Second trimester trisomy 21 screen came back positive. I am now a 1 in 14 chance of Globby having DS. We are going in for an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon. If things are abnormal, we will go from there and try to decide what to do.
I'm extremely pissed off. I'm scared to death. I'm a big jumble of feelings that I can't really decipher. I'm hoping for the best, but it is time to start preparing for the worst just in case.

I'm really sorry =( I hope all goes well.
Remember not all downs is sever, there are lot's of people in the world who are pretty independent with downs, also I do this woman's hair who works with the adoption exchange and she says that the kids with downs are such sweet and good kids that people who adopt one always ask for more because they love them so much.

I hope it's nothing but even if it is, I hope you aren't too discouraged. I remember reading this blog and wanted to share, Enjoying the Small Things: Nella Cordelia: A Birth Story

Every child is a blessing and I truely believe that God doesn't give you what you can't handle. Special people are chosen for special children and weather the tests come back that your baby has DS or no problems what so ever you will be the best Mom you can be. You have our support.
Creed of Babies With Down Syndrome
My face may be different
But my feelings the same
I laugh and I cry
And I take pride in my gains
I was sent here among you
To teach you to love
As God in the heavens
Looks down from above
To Him I'm no different
His love knows no bounds
It's those here among you
In cities and towns
That judge me by standards
That man has imparted
But this family I've chosen
Will help me get started
For I'm one of the children
So special and few
That came here to learn
The same lessons as you
That love is acceptance
It must come from the heart
We all have the same purpose
Though not the same start
The Lord gave me life
To live and embrace
And I'll do it as you do
But at my own pace

I'm sorry you are going through this. I have a mentally retarded brother. He was born with conelia de ling (or something like that) and he has taught me so much. I think you will be a great mom no matter what.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I agree with the others though, no matter what the outcome, you will be a great Mom, and this child has the potential to be a huge blessing to your family.

Prayers!!! Just remember that there is always room for error! It's not unheard of for couples to receive negative results from pre-natal screening, and then the baby is born just fine! And if you do find yourself with a sweet little Down's baby, I know you will have every grace you need to parent him or her. I have never met one who wasn't a precious ray of light to everyone around them.

My cousin told me something that I loved. She said that her mom always thanked her for choosing her as a parent. Meaning that no matter that happens with globby, he/she chooses YOU to be their mommy, and you will be wonderful!

Try to remember that the ONLY thing that test means is that you now have a 1 in 14 chance of birthing a completely individual soul, loving a child who will love you back, making a difference by being the best parent you can be to the best child you could ask for, and learning more about yourself and the things that matters most to you than you did before.
My thoughts are with you as you continue with the diagnostics, but no matter what the tests say, you're still growing a child you will love the instant he or she is in your arms.

Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. They seemed to have worked. They did the ultrasound and Globby looks normal and healthy. Thank god.
He is 6 oz and the due date is 10-11-12 officially.
And he is definitely a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you again my JM family for helping through my panic attack and helping me believe that there IS light at the end of the tunnel that isn't a train! <3
