BABY! And that's all we know for now.

Had my u/s yesterday, but they aren't allowed to reveal the gender. The images go to the radiologist, he makes up the report, sends it to my doctor, and my doctor gets to tell me what it is. Takes 3 days for the report to get to the office and the closest appointment I could get is next Thursday.

TALK ABOUT AGGRAVATING! The tech showed me lots of great shots of the baby on the screen, but the ones she printed out for me are awful. The kids were so excited to see pictures of the baby and it just looks like a scary alien to them.

*UPDATE* I got antsy and phoned the clinic to see if the nurse would tell me what the report said. Report includes no gender prediction; baby was shy about exposing his/her parts!

wow that is aggravatin! so sorry to hear you have to wait! I go in for a scan today..I hope they don't do that to me...I might have to ring someones neck lol

First off....NEVER sick of these posts!!! I get all giddy every time I see one! LOL. Second of all...OH.MY.GOSh....I would be SO frustrated! I'd be calling that doctor every 5mins till they told me the gender! LOL. HOW annoying! Did she show you any potty shots of the baby anyway so we can obsess? lol. My little boy went with us to our ultrasound (actually the 3 youngest did because the others were in school, but he was the only one that knew what was going on because he's 4) and he thought the baby looked like an alien too. lol. That's one reason why we can't wait for him to see our 4d!

What?! I've never heard of a clinic doing that. I can't wait to hear!!!!!!! And I agree with the others that said "We're NEVER sick of these threads!!!".

That's awful that they can't tell you the gender! Here they said they can't comment on anything really, other than telling us what we're seeing and they can tell the gender. My OB appt was an hour after my u/s so I didn't have to wait long to find out that everything looked good. Hope the time passes quickly until your appointment!

I sympathize! We went through the same thing a few weeks ago. I think it's a Western Canadian thing . During my u/s, the tech asked if we wanted to know gender - I said yes we did, and she explained that as a tech, she wasn't allowed to tell me anything because disclosing the gender is considered a "diagnosis", and she isn't qualified to diagnose anything. The best I could get out of her was that yes, she did check for gender, yes, she could tell what it was, and yes, she would put it in the report for our doctor.

Knowing that we would definitely find out the gender made the week's wait for the doctor's appointment bearable - if she hadn't been able to confirm that she could determine the gender, that would have made me nuts! So one week later, we found out that we have a DD on the way.

I'm sorry that you weren't able to get a "diagnosis" erm, gender prediction . Maybe you will be lucky enough to have another u/s between now and delivery day! Good luck!

Oh man, that is frustrating!! when will you get a rescan? You should try to find a 3d place; they are great and so worth the money!!
