How's exercise going? It's been a while since we checked in. A couple of weeks ago we ran a really fun 10K event. Since then I've been running my 5 mile loop (with a few walking breaks) and getting to the gym to lift and to use the elliptical.
I am slowing down, for sure, but feel good when I'm getting out there. How's everyone doing? We're in a bit of a heatwave so I don't know what I'll do tomorrow.
I'm finally getting back into doing some cardio at the gym after taking a break since early in the first trimester when I almost fainted after 20 minutes on it. I forgot how much I missed it and I'm so happy to be doing it again. I could definitely feel a difference when I went to prenatal yoga tonight - I was far more limber.
The only thing thats been bugging me is the cramping when I'm on the elliptical. I tend to just slow down and it stops about a half hour after sitting down. No shooting pains or anything so I'm not concerned. It is just bothersome right now.
The last 2wks haven't been very good. I'm still walking everyday about 30-60mins, and lifting weights 3x a week, but the running part has slacked. The last week as been so hot that there's no way I'm running. But it's finally going to cool off a little bit more back to the upper 80's so I started running again last night, and should the rest of the week/weekend. I only bust the bike out right now on sundays. I figure as long as I'm at least walking everyday I'm happy, I need to make sure I'm still moving, b/c I want the recovery to hopefully be easy.
Slack city over here. I ran 6k on Friday and haven't been out since!
I so wouldn't call that slack city
I'm just trying to keep doing something active on most days, whether it's a walk around my neighborhood in the morning or a trip to the gym where I do about 20 minutes on the eliptical or treadmill and follow up with 20-30 minutes of light weight lifting.
Haha, I was doing overhead tricep extensions the other day, and noticed through my shirt that every time I lifted, my belly button popped out
Oh how I wish I was still running! Darn pelvic rest! I am walking as much as I can though. The other day we went for a nice long walk and I really started cramping. I am not messing around with this placenta previa so I headed home and drank a ton of water and sat the rest of the night.
Tried to start up, but wasn't able to keep up with it. I am picking up a Boppy pregnancy pillow today, so hopefully that will help my back and I can start up again. Nothing major of course, but would like to feel "okay" enough to get up early for walks (it gets too hot here by 8am) at the very least if nothing else.
Nice work, ladies! Anyone want to start a daily accountability thread? It helps to motivate me when I know others are working out! We can start a new thread weekly but everyday - or most days - we try and check in and say what we've done/plan to do.
Today I rode my bike outside for 45 minutes. I need to get my hybrid bike out as my road bike is extremely uncomfortable! It's very hot and humid but if it cools off later I'll try and take the dogs out for a couple of miles of walking.
sounds good! Today I plan on talking the dogs and Ava for a 20min run. lol the jogging has been getting shorter and shorter b/c of swift kicks/punches to the bladder. Too many times I've been a mile away from the house and have to pee soooooo bad.

I'm getting back into things as well, and have definately missed it too! I love working out. I am overweight and had started before I got pregnant and LOVE how I feel. And despite being about 20 pounds overweight, this is by far my healthiest pregnancy.
I was going to talk to my doctor about the cramping. I have that at the end of a workout. I don't want to stop or slow down, but if I need to I will and maybe revise what I'm doing. I don't run, but I do walk 4 miles a day and do strength training. I was doing yoga before the pregnancy but didn't know if the poses were okay while I was pregnant so I stopped.
I would love to join you all in being accountable for exercising (and eating healthy- I just cut out all sugar for now as I'm dealing with yeast issues).
Yoga is great when your pregnant! But some poses have to be tweeked a little bit, but I continued to do the same yoga tape and if I felt uncomfortable then I didn't do that particular pose. Have you checked out any pregnancy yoga dvd's? some of those are pretty good.
I've been to the gym once since school got out. I did go to the Y a couple days ago and after I was changed realized I had forgotten my shoes. Flip flops just don't cut it so I left. Next week isn't so busy with kids activities so hopefully I'll get back to the regular routine.
I did just spend 4 hours walking around at the zoo though. Does that count?
It's been especially tough on me. I wasn't an active exerciser before I was pregnant so now that I am, it's really difficult. Especially with the couple health issues i'm having. I really hope this new medicine i'm on will boost up my stamina and i'll be able to do more with myself!
I'm proud of myself for walking around the block once a day, but that sounds pretty lame compared to you ladies lol

That's funny that you mention that because when I got home from my dr. appt. today DH said he saw a pregnancy yoga video on Netflix. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know! Also, my appointment went well and I didn't gain as much as I though I had, so I'm feelilng good about that.
Glad to see so many people joining! 4 hours of walking around the zoo definitely counts!
You yogis are reminding me that I really, really need to breakout my prenatal yoga DVD.
I didn't manage a walk as we took DS to the beach this evening, and honestly I was so tired, but tomorrow I'm hoping to run in the morning and, if I have time before DH leaves for an all day training, I may hit the gym for some quick weights.
How's everyone's eating? I am currently addicted to peaches... my appetite is crazy, though!
As far as eating goes my doctor said to watch the carbs 'cause if my glucose test comes back positive I won't have much choice. Unfortunately, carbs are so easy to eat and make when I'm starving and tired. *sigh* I've been trying to work more veggies into our dinners.
I took a break from the elliptical today since yesterday I did 30 minutes and I had my prenatal yoga class so I didn't want to over due it. I just went for a mile walk in the sun on my lunch break instead of the elliptical.
I run 3 days a week, usually only 2 to 3 miles. I had just recovered from a stress fracture when I found out I was pregnant, so I haven't been able to get back to my full mileage. I'm hoping to after baby I have totally slacked on all other exercise...
