Since we will be co-sleeping and baby wearing, we won't be getting a crib or a new stroller - at least not right away. Is anyone else foregoing the usual expected baby gear?

We're not buying a crib. Baby will be in our room for the first several months and then will move into DS's crib and DS will be moving to a regular bed. We'll need a double stroller, but I'm thinking I won't buy one until Spring/Summer of next year. Until then I'll just wear baby when we're out and about.

I considered not buying a crib because I plan to co-sleep. But I wanted a back up plan or a place for him to take his naps. That's why I found a crib that was a really cheap price.. I didn't want to spend a fortune on something we might not use. (Plus it turns into a toddler bed, AND a full sized bed which we definitely will be using when he's older)
But as a first timer I figured better safe than sorry, so I still got one

We didn't get a crib with my last and he still sleeps in bed with us most of the night, which is why I am getting a crib for this one. She will be co-sleeping with us for awhile but I would like to get her napping in her crib at least so she gets used to it.
I am also not getting a stroller, baby carrier... I got like 3 new ones. I'm probably not getting bottles or much of anything else really. If we run in to issues I can always have my husband run out.
I think I am set with what we have and the cloth diapers we are building our stash of. I don't see the necessity of a lot of the baby gear, but I will say that with this being my last I want to enjoy it, decorate a nursery, etc.

We're not getting her crib until she's about 6 months old so she can start napping in there. It'll have to be in our room anyway so at night I'd rather have her with me. We're getting it from Ikea.
We did get a new stroller, our other one is almost 7 years old and been through 3 kids so its seen better days. I LOVE our new stroller! We do babywear but I know from experience the baby doesn't always like that. Plus its hard to hold three kids hands and a diaper bag while wearing another baby. Having a stroller will be helpful even if its to put my 2 year old in and hang the diaper bag on the handle.
I was actually considering selling our swing since none of my other kids liked it at all but my luck would be that she loves it so I'm keeping it. I know she'll hate it too though. We have a couple bottles from the other kids that we'll use if need be. I can count on one hand the amount of bottles my last 2 took combined so they don't get much use.
Other than some season appropriate clothing I really don't need to get anything other than the carseat. My same gender children were born in opposite seasons--boys are summer and winter, girls are spring and now fall. lol

We will use the crib we have from Josiah. Josiah will be transitioning from our bed/his toddler bed to a twin bed. We won't be buying a stroller, just using the single we already have and our double wagon when the baby is a bit older. I already have just about everything we will need! Just need new bottles, some replacement pieces on my breast pump, and diapers! I'll also probably buy a few more newborn outfits with long sleeves since most of Josiah's were summery, and one or two cuddly new blankets just because I think every baby should get a few new things

I considered not getting a crib since we plan to start off co-sleeping but I'm hoping to transfer him to a crib at some point - plus, the one we're looking at getting is convertible so if he doesn't use it as a crib for very long, it won't feel like a waste of money.

We're hoping not to buy a crib. Ava's still in her crib, but we're hoping to transition her to a toddler bed we got for free, and use her crib for the new baby. We still have lots of time since baby will be sleeping in a co-sleeper in our room the first 3months.

Well, we have a lovely crib and Moses basket that have NEVER been used as we still cosleep with our almost 3 year old So no new cribs here. I'm hoping this little one will at least nap in the Moses basket, and perhaps even sleep, right next to our bed, because I am not certain DS will be in his own bed by the time his brother arrives!

Wanted to add the reason we're getting a new crib is because ours bit the dust. We got it used 7 years ago so it didn't owe us anything. lol

DH is set on having baby sleep with us. Our ds did and still ds sometimes and dh loves it...me not so much. Anyway, we are getting a co-sleeper for baby while she is so small, just so that we can be more assured that we won't roll over on her or anything like that. Once she outgrows the co-sleeper I am sure she will just transition to our bed. Simple as that!

We didn't get a crib with #5, after #4 destroyed the crib we had. First, he dumped a whole bottle of chocolate syrup on the kitchen floor. Then while I was cleaning that up, he got into the Vaseline and coated his sister's hair with it. GOBS of Vaseline in her very, very thick hair!!! And dumped baby powder on top of the Vaseline! So before I could start tackling the Vaseline mess, I put him in his crib where he couldn't get into any trouble and where I wouldn't be tempted to strangle him.
It took forever to try to get all the Vaseline out of my daughter's hair. After awhile, things got quiet. Then he came toddling into the bathroom. I was like; "Oh great. Now you've learned to climb out of the crib and I have no safe place to contain you."
Nope, this is what he did. Kicked the bars out to make an escape hole:
So with #5, we didn't buy a new one. For the first 10 months, he slept in a smaller crib in our room. Then he slept in the Pack 'n' Play and was ready for a toddler bed not long after. My sister has the smaller crib now and I think her kids have been pretty hard on it, so I think we won't bother asking for it back. A friend gave us a full size crib in really good condition.

We're not buying them, because we already have them! yay! I'm really enjoying the benefits of having a second and still having all the gear left over from #1!
I just wish I had my moses basket still, I do need to get one of those.

Shawnacan that is hilarious! What a little stinker! Your son is super cute btw. I have been looking at used cribs on craigslist mostly. We are planning to have baby in the room with us so I guess I really should be looking at bassinets!

I wish we didn't have to buy a crib, but we both decided we don't want to co sleep. I am really hoping that my mother in law buys the crib, but I guess we will see.

I don't want to Co sleep, because I'm afraid of rolling over on the baby, I move around a lot in my sleep. We are getting a mini crib, it's smaller so it will fit in the room with us, and it turns into a toddler bed.

We still have our crib, Our 3 year old hasn't been in a stroller for over 2 years, so we won't be buying a double. And we kept everything else from #1. We will just need girlie things and the basics like burp clothes, towels, washclothes, clothes, and maybe a few girlie cloth diapers since all the ones ihave are blue, green and white
