Yay.
What state do you live in? North Carolina! Kind of in the middle, north of Charlotte..
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Tough question!! Probably Scotland.
If you had three wishes right now, what would the be? I thought about this one for a while!
1. For DH and I to stay very happily married for the rest of our lives (seen too many nasty divorces. )
2. For our daughter to grow up happy and healthy; no matter what she does.
3. I hate to sound materialistic, but a little more money would be nice! I feel like we are always strapped for cash.
What are you doing this weekend? Probably just the usual, boring errands, for the most part. I have to go get food for the goats and the horse and Saturday there's a local artisan festival at the health food store that I want to go to! Other than that, just errands...
What is your favorite color? That honestly depends on what it's on/ for. Typically blue but clothes wise I love browns and greens.
Show us your favorite thing that you've purchased for your little one so far.
Our crib set and bedding!
What's your favorite kind of weather? That's a toss up between a nice fall day and snow! lol.
What do you wear around your house to be comfy? PJ pants from Target and usually a tshirt.
What are you most looking forward to after baby is born? Wearing her in a wrap!!!
What do you consider your greatest personal accomplishment? Moving over here from Germany when I was 16. I lived with my aunt for 2 years while I finished high school, then I met DH and moved in with him. But I basically paid for everything on my own, since I was 16. I worked and bought my own food, clothes, etc from that point on.
How did you and DH meet? Love this Q. I was working at my first (real) job at a coffee shop and him and his buddies hung out there in the evenings, pretty much every day. When things were slow at work, I would sit there with them and hang out. We were friends for a while first; mostly because of our age difference (10 years) and then he got the courage to ask me out! I've loved him ever since; more each year we are together. We've been together for 8 years now!

What's your favorite type of music and/or band? Bluegrass!! As far as bands; I like many! I like Newfound road, Blue Moon Rising, Grascals, of course Ralph Stanley and Doc Watson and so many more! I also really like folk style music; some of my favorite singers are Joe Purdy and Gregory Alan Isakov!
If you could undo any one thing in your life, would you, and what would it be? That's a good question! Probably not doing everything in my power to go back to college when I moved in with Bryan. I should've started back right away!
Do you believe in God? If so what are your spiritual and/ or religious beliefs? Ack, Leanna... I don't want to offend anyone! But ok, here goes: I don't believe in "god" per se, or maybe I should say I don't believe in the bible. I don't think it's right for religions to preach about loving everyone etc but then condemning someone for certain beliefs they have, for example homosexuality. What I believe is that everyone deserves to be happy, with whomever they chose to be with! I believe a lot in karma and that you should treat people and animals how you want to be treated and that everything comes back around. I think everyone should try their best to be a kind and positive person and just try to be the best they can be in general, instead of pointing fingers. Hope that makes sense and doesn't offend anyone!!

Thanks!!
Do you have siblings? Get ready for a novel! Yes, I do. I have one sister (24) and we share same mom and same dad. Mom and dad divorced when my sis and I were young, then mom remarried and had a son, Max (almost 18 now!), who I helped raise and I just love him to death! So he's technically my half brother. Dad remarried as well and had a son (16 now) and a daughter (I think she's 13) but I'm not as close to them, because I lived with my Mom and only saw those two kids on weekends when we had visitation with my dad.
Greatest childhood memory ... The vacations we took to my grandparents' house in Spain every summer! Paradise for kids.
One thing your parents did that you want to continue with your family. Raise my kids bilingually! I'm sure many of you know by now but my mom is German and dad is American and they raised my sister and I with both languages, which is fantastic! I hope to be able to do that with my daughter as well!!

Cool ... DH wants me to do that. I have a minor in Spanish Education, so I will probably use some Spanish with my daughter when she's young. Nothing too major, but easy questions/answers, colors, numbers, stuff like that.

Can we see a picture of some of your animals? Heck yeah! I keep meaning to start a thread with some pics of our farm but I never get around to it! My fur-baby dog, Donner is in my siggy, so here is one of my pot bellied pig, Rooter!
Here's one of one of my favorite goats, Sara:
Favorite book? "Remembering Blue" by Connie May Fowler.
If you could delete one moment/occasion of the past from your memory, would you? And what would it be? Honestly, I probably wouldn't, even though there are several unpleasant memories. I believe that every moment and every emotion we go through forges a path that we are supposed to be on and that even one tiny decision, like running a light vs. stopping and waiting for the next green, for example, can completely change the course we are on... I like where I'm at right now, so I'd probably keep all my memories, pleasant and unpleasant.
If you won 1mil dollars, what would you do with it? Whew! Hard to say... I'd invest a pretty good part of it and I'd definitely buy a house over here for my mom and maybe for my sister and by then, the money would be gone already. My sis wants to live here badly and I would love to be able to see her more. (She lives in Germany too)
What are the top 3 virtues/lessons of life you'd like to give your child for her journey through life?
1. Everything that goes around, comes around! I strongly believe in karma.
2. I want her to be empathetic! Of people as well as of animals.
3. And of course I would like for her to be smart and make the choices that lead her down a path that lets her fulfill her potential.
What parts of the world have you been to? (aside from Germany, obviously)
I've been to England, Italy, Spain, and France.
What superpower would you most like to have and why? I'd love to be able to fly; but only if I could fly super fast! I'd go visit my family in Germany every weekend!
What brought you to the US? I came over here in 2002, to finish my last 2 years of High School. I was supposed to move back to Germany after that, but met Bryan during my last year of HS. My poor mom was heartbroken, of course and I still feel bad for that; I can't imagine my own daughter moving so far away. At the time it didn't even dawn on me what a monstrous sacrifice on her part that must have been! I love her for letting me have that opportunity.
What's the history behind your farm; what drew you to have that lifestyle? Aww I like this question! Well, it's only a small far, 4 acres, so unfortunately it doesn't have an awesome history really, other than that the house was built late 80's, I think, and DH actually lived here with his parents when he was a teenager! He moved out at 18, into his own place, where he still lived when him and I met. We lived there for a year and then his parents told him they wanted to move to the lake because this was becoming too much maintenance for them and they wanted him to buy it. He always wanted this house so it worked out great. I've always been drawn to farm life and animals in general; not sure why (maybe genes or instincts) since no one in my immediate family ever lived on a farm... lol. So everything kinda fell into place! It's a lot of work, that's for sure, but it's different and we like having our own space!
Where did you get married, can you share a photo? I'd love to! We got married at DH's mom and stepdad's place, on the lake.
We had white chairs up in the yard and it was such a beautiful day! October 11th, 2008.
What's your favorite animal? Simply cannot answer this one! lol. I obviously love dogs, but I also love horses, elephants, narwals and most every animal, really.
Who is your best friend (aside from DH) I have a bestie in Germany and we've known each other since we were about 12 years old. Even after all this time, we still email (although not as often as we used to but probably once every other week or so). Actually, she is in the wedding pic; the one in the darker dress on the left. The other one is my sister. My "american bestie" is a girl I actually work with and we've known each other probably 4 years now...

How come you went to the US to finish high school? Since my dad is american, he said I could try out school here to see what it's like. It's such a different system than it is in Germany.
Do you play games? If yes, computer or board games or both? Which ones? Yes. I love board games and I also play video games. I play on the PS3 and mostly I play Call of Duty.
Are you a techie? By that I mean, do you like buying/owning the latest tech on the market? Well... I don't have to have the newest or latest but I do love technology. I have an iphone and love it...
Can you ballroom-dance? Good question! I used to be able to; took a course when I was still in Germany, but I'm sure by now I'm pretty rusty.
