I have had several sonograms due to preterm labor. I noticed that on the last one, the baby looked different than he did during the sonogram I was given two weeks prior. I know they change a lot in two weeks, but this seemed like a big change. Everyone who sees the two pictures wonders if it's the same baby, lol. Has anyone else had that happen?

I think its just because he's starting to fill out more. Things are getting bigger and chubbier.

The shape of the head in the first picture looks so round compared to the second. The nose looks way different. In the first picture, it looks like my son's nose, but not in the second. Also, the forehead looks different.

On the other hand, the mouth and chin look the same (just like he's maybe puckering in the second one) and the body looks the same.

My mom seemed so shocked when she saw the second sonogram picture that I wondered if that is normal to change that much.

I see what you're talking about. I'm guessing it was just a weird angle with the wand and it came out looking different.

I see it as well.. That's odd I agree. Did they not say anything about it? It must be a weird angle, like Kristen said. But yeah, the nose looks totally different!

The second pic was done at my new doctor's office and they have not seen the first one. I've never seen such a big change in sonograms. My mom and I were laughing saying there are two and they just switched places, but really, I think I would feel two different babies in there if there were. I feel one really active baby. I guess I will show the doctor at my next appointment and ask if it's normal to change that drastically in two weeks.

I see a big difference too. I bet it's the angle of the picture or whatever.

Yup baby grows very quickly at this point in pregnancy but also different levels of sono machines can effect the detail of what you see. Example level one versus 4D U/S.
