Hello ladies, I have been busy as usual going back and forth to the hospital to be with the girls. Thank you and please continue to keep them both in your prayers, currently we have a possible NEC infection in Paige! NEC is a nasty, nasty intestinal infection that no parent wants to find their newborn suffering from. Paige started going down hill the night before last requiring over 70% O2, and much more pressure on her vent settings, futures were drawn that night but we will not have a definitive answer (yes or no) until that time tomorrow. She is doing much better and is now on 3 different antibiotics to cover that and her 2nd infection of pneumonia. London and Paige are now on lower vent settings requiring 37%O2 and much lower pressures in the teens. Paige may need to have a Picc line replaced if she is shown to have NEC (poor thing just had it removed on Friday to decrease a chance of infection from having it.) These little ones can get sick just from one bacteria versus us that would become sick after acquiring about 10,000 bacteria. Looks like both girls have a colony growing in their tubes from the ventilator the neonatoligists are hoping this time next week to pull them and get both girls on CPAP, but have to be sure they are on lower vent setting before doing so. This has been such a roller coaster ride and I wonder how much more I can take before I break, I am constantly worried and stir crazy that I can't stand myself most of the time. On a lighter note my milk supply has gotten better since being on the herbs and Donparidon. I hope all of you are having smooth sailing pregnancies and welcome to your third trimesters. I can't wait to see all of your beautiful babies in a few short months. Again thank you for all of your continues support there can never be to much of that.
Sending up a prayer right now for both girls AND YOU, for strength. Hang in there Mama!
Oh, and I keep meaning to ask you this: How are your other girls doing with the twins coming early and you running back and forth from the hospital? Are they all handling it okay?
I am so sorry to hear the update isn't better. I know you must be feeling crazy. I feel for you and your family. Thinking of you and saying prayers every night. I am hopeful that the news will get better and they will both be doing well soon.

Yes the older girls are doing fantastic and have visited their sisters a few times now. They talk to them and keep them in the loop of whats happening lol. The hospital has a great child psychologist that gathers the older siblings of NICU babies and does different group activities with them.
I am also going to start taking oral probitotic supplements to help the babies gut mature and build flora.

I'm so happy to hear that your other girls are doing well. Thank goodness they've been able to see their sisters and how wonderful that your hospital has the child psychologist. I will keep your other kids in my prayers as well!
Hi Angelina: I am still praying fro london and paige. I know they will make it through great. May God strengthen you and your family as you go through this very difficult time and may He grant the doctors and nurses wisdom on how best to help the girls. Lots of hugs from me to you all.

Just a tiny update Paige is doing great and off the antibiotics today nothing grew in the culture that they drew to rule out NEC! However now London is exsibiting the same symptoms as Paige did a few days ago, so the Drs are treating her as they did Paige. The drs are also amazed at how this set of twins have the same exact pattern, apparently not many are this mimicking. Anyhow I'm now crossing my fingers our girl is fine.
Thank you for updating. I'm glad that your older girls are doing well and that Paige is doing better. Hopefully, London continues to mimic her sister and is better soon. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers.
Your girls still are (and always) in our prayers Angelina!!! I hope YOU are feeling better as well!!!! I'm so glad they are doing better, and I hope that yucky infection goes away for paige very soon!
