Honestly my MFM appointments this time aren't drastically different from my OB appointments last time (this time I only see an MFM). The only big difference to me is that my MFM does much longer, in-depth ultrasounds.

Don't be nervous...you are getting specialty care, and that's a good thing!

For me they took an in depth survey of previous illness and my previous pregnancies. Asked about genetic abnormalities and if any ran in my family. They did a BP and weight and then I got a really thorough ultrasound from the tech. After that the doc came in and also did a look with the ultrasound and let us know what we were looking at and what he was looking for. Heart, stomach, lungs, brain, nose...stuff like that. He was making sure it was all forming properly.

From there, he told us what we needed to do to make sure Globby behaved and made my next appointment. They offered a bunch of blood tests for the NT scan and what not ( I was 14 weeksish at the time I think? ) Other than that I went back 4 weeks later for the same song and dance until they determined that I had a healthy happy baby and shouldn't need to go back to them.

On the plus side.... you SHOULD be able to see your little one in 3D. They were all about it when I asked what the difference between a 3 and 4D was.

I was wondering the same thing. I have my first MFM appointment coming up this week also. Does that mean I will automatically get an ultrasound? I sure hope so!

I've never seen an MFM (knock on wood), but wanted to say good luck to you ladies with your appts! From what I hear, the MFM appts are way more in depth and you get lots more US's, so that would be a positive thing!
