I've been lurking in here and posting in the November DDC. I just decided that I should probably introduce myself. My name is Ki, and I'm actually due in November. However, due to my previous history with preterm labor (delivered DS at 33 weeks after three weeks of hospitalized bed rest due to being dilated 5cm at 30 weeks), multiple fibroids, advanced maternal age, and the possibility of uterine rupture (due to an abdominal myomectomy to remove previous fibroids), my doctor has mentioned several times that he's shooting for me to at least get to 35 weeks. That would be October 23.
Holly, stop reading. You know all this.
It's been a complicated pregnancy with lots of visits to the doctor. We thought I had suffered another loss (I've had two previous ones) due to bleeding from a large subchorionic hematoma in the early weeks of pregnancy. I actually had called my doctor to schedule a hysterectomy for the summer because of all my uterine issues. He insisted on one more ultrasound and a quantitative hCg. Lo and behold, I was still pregnant, and it was just bleeding from the hematoma.
At my last ultrasound on Thursday, the hematoma has resolved itself. The fibroids I have are not impinging on the baby. My cervix is long and closed. Thank goodness.
I am married, have a son who will be four in November, am a sixth grade science teacher at a middle school, and will be having son #2 in either October or November.

Welcome to the DDC, KI!! Glad to have you say hi as it sounds like your chances of delivering in October are pretty good. I am so happy to hear everything is going well so far, albeit the few scares you've had. I agree that this little boy is just meant to be!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you! Do you have any names for your son picked out yet?
We are expecting our first, a daughter, October 16th and her name is Emmelyn.

Congrats and welcome! I'm Beth and DF and I are expecting our second DS (he has a 7 year old DD and we have 14 month old DS). I'm due October 16 although my c-section date has been set for October 9 and the baby's name will be Jaymeson.
Welcome! I am Rachel. I have 2 girls and I am expecting to deliver a little boy on Sept 27.
I was a middle school science teacher as well until my first was born Middle school is NOT easy. I have now started my own business and hope not to go back to teaching.

We have decided upon Broderick. Our son, Donovan, has finally accepted it. He kept insisting, "That's a name for a grown up not a kid." We don't have a middle name yet. Like we did with Donovan, we asked my Japanese mom to give us a list of middle names. It is a long process because she writes them in kanji characters first for the meaning/symbolism of each character, converts is to romanization, and factors in how many numbers are in the first, middle, and last name (numerology).
