Kegels, calcium, & teeth brushing!

I know I made a reminder post a while back about doing kegels, but I figured it had been long enough to post again, and to add a couple of things!

I have been waking up with achy knees lately and realized I haven't been getting nearly enough calcium. And now that we are all nearing or in the 3rd tri, we need to make sure to get enough or baby will steal it from our bones. I know none of us want osteoporosis!

Brush your teeth no matter how hard it can be to remember or how tired you get! Just another way to avoid pre-term labor

No kegels for this c/s mama... I would do them if I had bladder control issues or a history of hemorrhoids, but I don't have either of those things! But YES and YES to the other two things on the list!!!

Kegals are a pelvic floor exercise that pregnant women are encouraged to perform to help prepare for a vaginal child birth. You should look it up and ask your doctor about it. When you urinate, stop in the middle of your stream. This is what a kegal feels like, but you can do the exercise all day long, not just when you go to the bathroom.

exactly. but do it in the bathroom only that once to get the idea of what it feels like. it's not healthy to interrupt your urine stream too many times

It has something to do with gingivitis. If you don't brush your teeth and develop severely inflamed gums (gingivitis), it can cause pre-term labor.

Here's a little bit about it:

I HATE Kegels!

I don't even know why, because they are so easy to do. But it's so annoying always trying to remember to do them. I'll do it for a minute and then stop because I completely forgot I was doing them. I'm hopeless lol

I have strong pelvic floor muscles and I have never done kegels and probably never will... but the others I definitely do.
