So I've already had 3 home waterbirths, and they were fantastic. But I just saw this photo and I want to be totally frivolous and get myself some floating candles too!!!! Yeah, yeah, yeah....not the most important thing to be concerned about right now. But it looks really cool! Or they might annoy the heck out of me and I'll start throwing them at DH and my MW when transition hits.

That does look amazing and seems like it would create a nice, calm atmosphere. Then again, like you said, you might just end up getting annoyed by them.

That looks like heaven! I am quite jealous of all the home-birthing Mamas.

WOW!!! Love, love, love!!! Will they seriously let you do that?? I can see my hair catching on fire as well. I would think it would be a great hindrance to the midwives though, having all that floaty stuff in the water. But yeah, how beautiful is that?!

Maybe save the candles for right after the baby is born? It looks so tranquil and serene. They would totally tick me off during labor to have them floating in my way and bumping into me. I'm one of those don't talk to me and don't touch me when I'm laboring kind of women. lol

Also totally jealous of the homebirth Moms. I REALLY wanted to have a homebirth this time and last time, just can't afford the out of pocket expense.

I loved my waterbirth! Can't say the candles look like a good idea. Way too much commotion going on to worry about floating fire.

Let me? There is no letting or not letting with my MW. She wouldn't care if I wanted to give birth swinging from the chandelier; she'd run back and forth underneath me waiting to catch the baby like a good sport. She's the one who asks if she can do something (like do an internal exam) and I decide whether to let her or not. LOL!

Yeah I was gonna say they look like they're electric candles, not flame candles.

I'm not sure I'd want open flame near me when in labor! D:

Wish I could have done one this time around, insurance won't pay.

These look similar... I think it's an awesome idea. I'd probably use them too! Seems nice and relaxing and would make for some very beautiful picture.

I do not think those are actual flames but if they are, I would just tie my hair up regardless I would never want my hair down while giving birth... just seems like it would bother me too much. That looks so relaxing and I am jealous that I will be stuck in a bed while you will be relaxing like that. I would go for it... if not for the comfort, definitely for some great pictures!!!
