Where do you plan to change your LO in the middle of the night?? Obviously, I don't want to walk all the way into the baby's nursery (where the changing table is) to change her in the middle of the night; that kind of defeats a main reason we are co-sleeping. lol. I guess as of now, I am planning on getting a small pad or something and laying it into the co-sleeper when I need to do night time changes. I have a chest of drawers and have cleared one drawer out for diapers, wipes, etc but we don't have the room for a changing table in our bedroom, so I need to figure out where to lay her...

I've always just done nighttime changes on our bed, with a stash of what I need in an armoir in our room.

I told Bryan I could just change her on the bed and you should've seen the face he made. I may just end up doing that as well... Do you have a pad or something that you lay under the baby? I think I'm gonna want that extra protection, just in case.

Both my kids slept in the master bedroom and I also just changed diapers on the bed. I won't be co-sleeping this time but baby will be in our bedroom for a few months, and again...diaper changes on the bed.

We keep diapers, wipes, and a few large receiving blankets in the basket below our bassinet. Then the receiving blanket gets laid on the floor or end of the bed for diaper changes.

That's a great idea Sarah. Hopefully we will end up with lots of receiving blankets!
Thanks for the input!

I think once your DH realizes just how often baby needs to be changed, he'll be less grossed out about doing it on the bed. My changing pad would often go missing, so I always just keep a towel nearby to put down first. But honestly, after 5 kids...I'm really quite a whiz at changing a diaper in a matter of seconds, without contaminating any surrounding surfaces.

We kept diapers in the side pockets of the co-sleeper as well as a rolled up fabric waterproof changing pad and we did it right on the bed.

Yep...just did it on the bed, too
We have several of these: Especially For Baby Sheet Saver - Sage - Babies R Us - Babies "R" Us. They are great for diaper changes...we still use them for Claire in case she decides to roll around unexpectedly in the middle of a diaper change
It is also great to have a lamp or soft touch-light so you can have just enough light to see what you are doing without having to flip on an overhead light.

Yup, on the bed. I kept a couple waterproof changing pads, diapers, wipes, etc. next to our bed and just changed right there.

When baby is in our room for the first two or three weeks, we'll just change on the bed. We did that with #1. Or, if I am getting up in the night and want to watch TV or something i'll just change in baby's room, it's right across the hall. I'm not one of those people that can just half-wake-up, change a diaper, put baby to breast in bed and go back to sleep... I like to get up and sit on the couch, go on the computer, watch a movie... if I'm up, I'm up.

The changing table is about a step away from the co-sleeper. lol I didn't want to walk a long way either, so I'm arranging the table and crib together so everything doesn't look smooshed in the room. But I prefer if the table was closer to the co-sleeper.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions. I've been wanting to get a sheet saver anyway so I just added some on amazon. Those will be handy!

Just be careful because babies seem to like to pee when their diapers come off. I wasn't fast enough one time and baby peed on the bed... huge stain.
