So since we are moving soon, we moved our bed out into the front room so we can stack boxes in our bedroom which has a sliding glass door. It's 5:30ish am and I hear a knocking at the front door, rolling over it stopped so I thought maybe I was dreaming. Well then it sounded like someone threw something at the door, then more knocking. So i roll over to get out of bed, its dark out so I can't see anything really so I grab the cellphone off the tv to call DH at work which is about 5-6 blocks from home. When I get to the phone I hear whoever is at the door screaming and cussing, which freaks me out more. I am almost in tears at this point, shaking so bad. I walk into the laundry room to look out that window to see if there is a car, there is none. the knocking stops and I call DH, he was going to try to leave work, but the woman he worked with was asleep and wouldn't wake up, he said he was screaming her name. So he was about to call his boss and tell him that she wouldn't wake up and that he was leaving to come home. He called back to ask if I wanted him to call the police but at that point the knocking/screaming had stopped so I said no. I went back to bed and laid perfectly still until 7am when he got home. I have never been so scared in my whole life. People make fun of me because instead of thinking "call the cops" all I could think was "I want DH"

That is scary! Maybe this person was under the influence of something? And had the wrong house? Also, I would have totally called my husband before I thought to call the cops.

Oh my gosh...that is super scary! You should call the police and at least report it though....what if they come back? At least maybe the police will patrol the area heavier or something (((hug))) I'm a HUGE weenie when it comes to being home by myself at night. I can't wait till all of my boys get to be teenagers (lol). Then I'll feel safer being home by myself, but until then.....my husband is not allowed to work past 10p! ha!

Don't worry. Our house alarm went off when DH was in Africa. I called even though he was 10,000 miles away & a seven hour time difference! They are our protectors!

That is scary. I hope that never happens again! I would call my DH too, but then I know he'd just tell me to call the cops!

A few weeks ago around midnight I was up to go pee and saw a car parked on the street in front of my house. I peeked out to see what was going on and a couple big guys were standing in the middle of the street. There was also some large object on the street. Eventually one guy left in the car, and the other guy was still standing in the street. I was scared and then finally he left too. The large object was still in the street though. I decided to try to go to sleep, then I saw the lights of a police car outside. I watched while the police checked out the object. Turns out it was a big white owl! They got it to fly away and then they left. I felt silly then! Up until then though, I was sooooo scared of what was going on out there.

Never found out who it was. My 9 year old turned into superman yesterday and told me next time someone does that to wake him up and he will "handle them" for me. LOL it was so just so cute when he told me, hes scared of spiders and bugs but yet would protect his momma and baby brother
