And by finally I mean FINALLY! DH got an 89 on the practice ASVAB () and we talked about his medical/police/education history. We just have to wait on medical clearance (for a minor surgery he had), background check, and school transcripts and then he can be sworn in Ship-out dates have been within 3-6 months so he should be here for the birth! We are really excited, relieved, anxious....etc. etc. etc.

I would say congrats, but its hit or miss. He may love it or he may hate it. lol I just wish you guys the best of luck. It is a whole different lifestyle.

Yeah, I'm of course hoping he loves it! I know it's gonna be really tough and different from everything we are used to but it will be good for us!

My hubby has been in for just over 11 years and we love it too. Of course it has its ups and downs thats just life in general. Congrats!

My Dad was Navy... it scares me to watch young men enlisting these days, with the state of our world, even though I have nothing but support for them! I wish you both the best of luck, and hope this ends up being a really good thing for your family.

I admire everyone who can do that and have that lifestyle!

Totally not for me, just because I'm a wimp and can't handle being alone. Props to you independent mama's who have husbands in the military or to those mama's who are in the military themselves!!!!

Good luck to both of you. I've been in (reserves) for almost 3 years and DH has been in (AD) for a year and a half... It definitely has its ups and downs but overall we enjoy it.

I have been active duty for 10+ years. Most days I hate it, but I am obviously a glutton for punishment since I keep reenlisting lol
