My philosophy is that it doesn't matter how they get it, but if you can somehow continue giving bm either at the breast or by bottle, that is what is best for baby! Nothing wrong with choosing to do a bottle here or there. Josiah usually gets one a day of expressed milk. I'd encourage you to pump around the time he is feeding in the middle of the night though, to keep your supply up... at least for awhile until you have a really established milk supply.
so far what ive been doing is pumping on my left and feeding on my right, i pump on my left after he eats in the middle of the night, i think i have a good supply, i get a bag to two bags a day just from my left side which are in the freezer, i can tell that he is bringing in even more every day just by how much i am pumping on my left. i figure feeding him a bottle solves two things, him not fighting it and him not keeping my SO up bc he fights it for so long!
