My understanding is that you need to give your uterus time to heal properly. Your incision can look pretty good on the outside, but it stretches hip bone to hip bone internally, and takes much longer to properly heal internally. I would recommend waiting until fairly close to the 6 week mark.
ummmmm.....we did it at 5 days pp...crazy i know, felt amazing he was slow and it didnt hurt, i am 3 weeks two days pp and we got the clearance yesterday to dtd from the dr plus a RX of birth control! i think everyone heals different, my dr told me as long as it didnt hurt and you feel 100% fine with it then go for it!
We tried yesterday and it sucked a**. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life! Felt like DH had razorblades on his thing. Ugh. I think it was my cervix that hurt the worst....poor thing, I believe, was annihilated by the fetal monitor when they had to put me on my hands and knees super quick....idk though. DH just said there was a ton of blood everywhere and I think it may have been from that poor cervix. I should have said no to that sh*t being put inside me!
You may have a totally different experience though and I hope you do!!!
I just looked with a hand mirror "down there" tonight, and let me just say I was SHOCKED at how unrecognizable my lady parts still are at 3 weeks PP... oh. my. gosh. No wonder I'm still sore!! Yeah, DH won't be getting any action for SEVERAL more weeks!
We've always just waited until the bleeding had stopped and I felt ready, not the arbitrary 6 weeks. But I think it's riskier with a c/s, because there are so many layers of tissue and muscles trying to heal. Last thing you want to do is aggravate the internal incisions!!!
