so I seem to have tried just about anything to increase my milk production with very little results if any. I'm making about half of what the twins need. I've already tried drinking a lot of water, oatmeal, "the breastfeeding 3 day sabatical", mother's milk tea, more milk plus (both in pill and liquid form), pumping after each feeding, .. no dice...

My only remaining things to try are
-supplemental delivery system (that bottle you hang around your neck with tubes to your boobs...) Sounds irritating and potentially messy... :\ But child stimulation is supposed to be better than pump

- renting a hospital pump, supposedly this would stimulate me better than the pump-in-style I have. I have to admit Im really tired of breastfeeding TWO BABIES, feeding each formula and then pumping everytime after that. I'm just tired of all this crap.

- reglan
if it works, it could double my production which is exactly what I need, but (a) it doesn't always work (b) it has some really nasty potential side effects. My LC said no one she had worked with had any bad side effects, but... it's worrysome.

Thoughts? I was inclined to try Reglan, my pediatrician and LC had no problem with it, and I'd only have to take it for a week or two she said. Seems like if I had a bad reaction I could just stop taking it...?
but a good friend of mine online was worried about me taking it. She'd taken it before for other reasons and it had knocked her on her butt, she said, and she was also worried about the shaking/muscle control potential side effects.

I don't know anything about the Reglan - A mom friend of mine was taking something else that had the side effect of palpitations though. As for the supplemental feeding system- when Eabha was a week old we ended up having to use a tube system to finger feed her. It was a giant pain in the butt, but she did feed well from it. I definitely didn't find it easier than feeding and pumping though, and now I am gone to exclusively pumping.

I hope you get some relief soon - I can't imagine how challenging it is time and body wise to go through this with twins, you are fantastic!

I would try it, although it makes some people really depressed, so just be careful.

I have tried it in the past and nothing. Donparadon works wonders though. Expensive but works, as well as a combination of fenugreek.
