When do you plan on intentionally putting something on TV for your baby to watch?

Probably not til a year or so. We watch TV quite a bit though, so she will be in the room while we watch shows.

I didn't really do that for Claire until she was 2 and I was on bedrest. I'm guessing that when she watches Thomas or Clifford, the twins will join in when they are able.

I'm going to wait as long as possible mostly for selfish reasons. I loathe most children's programming

Not for awhile. Riley started watching movies in the car when he was...I don't know how old....8 or 9 months or something? He hated the car and screamed and screamed and screamed. I finally broke down and bought a DVD player and played Baby Einstein music videos for him. It was so stressful to drive anywhere, and I just couldn't take it anymore.

I already do. He loves looking at the flashing/moving lights and colors. It doesn't really matter what I put on, he enjoys everything.

Once he is older and can comprehend more I will start to limit tv though, I want him to play, imagine, and learn on his own without just being sat in front of a t.v all day.

Well the TV is on kids programming in the morning, so I'm sure when he starts paying attention he'll watch it. I won't intentionally put it on for him. And mama's shows come on after a certain point, so they aren't watching it all day anyways.

Not until she is at least 2 years old if I can help it. I made it to 20 months with Rebecca and 18 months with Elias, so I guess its more likely to be 18 months. Our selection is VERY limited though, and its only for maybe 30 mins once or twice a week.

Yeah Emmy already likes to watch what we have on. Lol. In sure it's just the flashing lights right now like someone else said but still. I'd like to limit tv so maybe in a couple of months I'll start introducing a show here and there...

We don't really watch a lot of tv and will definitely be trying to limit screen time until she is 2. That said, a bunch of our family live far away so she will be exposed to screens so we can skype.

Does Rachel Ray count? Alexandra is intrigued by it when it's on. I think it's the colors on the set of the show that she finds so amazing.

We watch lots of TV in this house and on Saturday morning, CJ was watching Mickey Mouse on the Disney Channel. I noticed Danika was very intrigued and watched quite intently for about 15 minutes and then she was done. It was cute to see her so intrigued by the colors and singing. We don't watch much that will hold her interest but I am sure as she gets older we will be watching Dora and all those other kiddo shows on Saturday morning if nothing else!

If I am home I have the tv on or the music channel. I can't sit in silence all day lol. I do notice that Jonah likes to watch the tv if it's in his view. I don't have a problem with it. My daughter was watching Cinderella the other day and as soon as the mice started talking he was captivated lol.
