Hey ladies,

I keep on going through bouts of guilt every time Alexandra starts napping and I think "phew, thank God." I absolutely love being home with her while I'm on my leave and she is amazing, but some days I am exhausted by the time 11am rolls around because this little girl hates daytime napping! I give her several hours of entertainment and attention throughout the day, but I also look forward to her naps.

Shame on me, I know!!

Madalyn hardly sleeps during the day, so I feel the same as you! I thought babies needed more sleep!

See, I'm glad I have you ladies. When I see "ahhh" i know I'm not a monster!! Haha. I thought babies slept more, too, but Alexandra likes to take it all in. She will fake me out with a few catnaps and then maybe one longer nap as we get closer to the 5:00 hour. I guess maybe that's a good thing. Everyone tells me she's going to be really smart. If she's anything like mommy and daddy she'll have book smarts in addition to being a smart ***! Hahaha

That just makes you normal Having to constantly keep a little human being alive is exhausting and naps are great little breaks

My favorite part of the day is when Riley and Eve are sleeping at the same time.

Ha!! I feel the same way, my guy doesn't nap much during the day but he does sleep good at night. He seems to take cat naps for like 30 minutes and that is it.

I hear you!! I remember reading the books that said they could be sleeping 18 hours out of every day and thinking "not this baby"! It can be so hard to get everything done - feeding, changing, playing, pumping, cleaning, cooking etc in the gaps in between not to mind trying to find some headspace for yourself. I wouldn't change it for the world but I really, really enjoy that cup of tea I make once she finally rests lol :-)

Don't feel bad, you're totally normal! Jamison is sleeping quite a bit during the day still, when he can manage to take his naps without his older brother waking him up It's like it's his mission to wake his baby brother up the minute I turn my back!!! Then the poor baby is deliriously tired... the curse of being the second born!

I absolutely cherish when Jayden takes his naps! I get so much done while he naps and I cant be attached to him all day lol, it feels good to take care of my baby and still get everything done that I need to do. I have never missed a deadline or been restricted from anything so far, its great lol

Oh dear! Don't start the mommy guilt- it's hard to stop once you start. I love when my kids are all sleeping. You should see DH and me rush them through their bedtime routine sometimes just so we can have some peace and quiet. It doesn't mean we don't love them...just that we cherish our "me" time!

I think it's clear everyone feels the same way as you do. It's funny, when my son goes down for his nap, I'm like "whew!" But, after a bit, I actually can't wait til he wakes up and then the cycle begins! Lol. He's so cute! Just a handful.

This makes me feel better. Clearly, how I'm feeling is normal and I'm not a crummy mommy!!
