WOW....any thoughts about this??

Its a bit upsetting to me!

That will happen if people don't clean it...I'm still using mine. Same with the bumbo...it only got recalled because some idiot left her baby in it, on the table, unattended. I'm so sick of things being recalled due to user error.

Yep...more user error. The same thing would happen to my swing if I didn't clean it after the babies' diaper leaked. If I had a Rock n Play, I'd keep on using it (and cleaning it).

I saw that this was a problem before I bought it, I keep a water proof mattress pad under, plus he's never leaked in his. I'll look user it tonight though.

I take my pad off and wash it weekly. It's never had mold underneath. Crazy people...

Yep its the people that dont clean it!! I clean my forsure! You have to clean it. Even if the baby doesnt leak. Some people are lacking a few brain cells sometimes! lol

And Morgan...the thing about the bumbo being recalled just sickens me!! How stupid to keep your baby in it on a table or countertop unattended!! Jeez...how is that even terms of being recalled!? The Mom is a nut case and she needs recalled!!

I heard of the mold thing once before. I took Eve's apart and looked under there and everything looked fine to me. I'm not going to stop using my RnP because of it, that's for sure. I also have a Bumbo which I use without the straps, but I also don't put my kid in it on the table and walk away!

I read about possible mold on the reviews right after I bought ours and posted on here asking about it. I don't think it had been recalled, though. I've been using it and just washing it regularly and I haven't seen any mold. Do you have a link to the recall information? If not, I will look it up in a bit.

Just got an email from Fisher Price (I'm on their email list) with tips on properly cleaning your Rock and Play:

Just got the email, also! So, is that really a recall? Just telling people how to clean it? Mine is clean. I think I clean ours too much for it to mold. Plus, Elijah doesn't pee in it and I have a waterproof pad in it.

So, just to be clear, it only molds if it gets wet and no one cleans it, correct? If you keep it clean, there is no problem? I love the Rock and Play for when I need to put Elijah down to go to the restroom or whatever.

I'm not sure this one is totally the users fault. From my understanding, tons of mold was collecting even when there was no spit up and leaky diapers. I wouldn't think to take it apart and clean it when there hasn't been spit up or pee. It's a baby bed, not a baby bathtub. What kind of material collects that much mold from nothing. I'm glad they are fixing it.

From what I can see, they aren't really fixing it... just telling people how to clean it. Also, if it can happen without moisture from the baby, are we supposed to just wait to see if it happens? How odd!
