How much BM is your LO taking each feeding? I'll be at drill this weekend and want to make sure I leave enough milk. Jude hasn't taken a bottle in a while so I'm not sure how much I need to leave.

I actually just need enough for 0600 to 1800 (give or take) Saturday because I'll be home in the evening and will be pumping at drill to have milk Sunday.

He takes 2-4oz at a feeding. Sometimes he'll take 2 and then 30 minutes later take 2 more. He doesn't care too much for the bottle though, so I think he takes enough to get by until I'm back with him.

I leave 4oz per feeding that I expect to miss, and usually leave one extra 4oz bag just in case he is overly hungry.

Luyando eats about 4-6 oz (depending on the time of the day and whether she is going through a growth spurt). She eats about every 2-3 hours during the day.

Madalyn takes between 4-5 oz twice during a typical work day when she's with my mom.

3oz every 3hrs. I'm sure he's ready for 4oz but he still seems fine after 3oz...

Thanks for the input, ladies. I think I'm just going to pump and store as much as I can. Worst case scenario - I pump more than we'll use and end up donating again.

The breast milk will keep 3-6months in the freezer! I'd hang onto it if you have room! Didn't you say you might have to be gone for an extended period of time at a later date? Good luck pumping enough for the weekend!

Oh yeah definitely hang on to it!! You'll probably end up needing it again. doesn't hurt to have some extra.

Emmy takes 4-5 oz when I give her a bottle and that lasts her anywhere between 2-4 hours.

I do need to start saving up a lot but we don't really have room in our little freezer - plus I've heard/read that for milk stored in a freezer that is attached to the refrigerator, it's closer to 3 mo this than 6 that it stays good because of it being opened all the time and I won't be away until May. I want to get a separate freezer for milk storage, although I'm not sure where it would go. Sorry if this is hard to follow. Am using my phone. But, yes, keeping extra is not a bad idea. Just need to figure out where.

Now I'm super confused. Haha. I guess I'll have to so a little research. Maybe it's 1 year in a deep freezer and 6 months in a freezer that's frequently opened? If that's the case, then I could start saving up now. Hmm...

I read 1yr in a freezer and 3yrs in a deep freeze!! I'm almost certain that's what our lactation lady said too. Dang, now I'm confused!!
