Just thought I'd update... so, for those that did not read my original post on this, shortly after Thanksgiving, Josiah threw a temper tantrum and in the midst of kicking and flailing, managed to connect with my left thumb. Xrays showed a small bone chip, so I have been in a splint for the past 6 weeks. 2 weeks ago, when I went for a follow up appt, the dr. told me that bone fractures take 6 weeks to heal, and that if I hit the 6 week mark and it wasn't completely better, to make an appt. to come back in, because it could mean ligament damage. He said the course of action at that point would be to send me to a hand specialist and have an MRI done. So, today is the 6 week mark. It is better, but not completely. Now I am freaked out that it is going to be something that requires surgery!!! What really makes me nervous is that I had a little "pop" when the splint was off and I was flexing the thumb... please pray that it is NOT ligament damage! I'm going to give it a few more days before I call the doctor.
