Is the area of gums where the molars are always squishy, or is it like that when the teeth are coming in? I hope we aren't the lucky ones to have the molars come in first.....

I have no clue, but I didn't want to read and run. I will check Elijah's later when he is not trying to go to sleep.

Check out the teething chart. You won't be having to worry about molars for a long while.

not sure if they're always squishy or not. Ryan's didn't come in until right after his 1yr birthday. when they did start coming in, it looked like he had gumballs under his gums.

Well I'm hoping they confirm that she is teething at her appt, just for the peace of mind (ha.) - she's been whining a lot and it is different than her usual cries so I can def tell she's going through something!

Oh I'm with Kristen on the canines! My DD is 17 months and getting them now, misery! Her molars came in around 13 months. I haven't noticed anything squishy with any of my kiddos.

are you sure he is cutting his canines? my kids always had calcium deposits on their gums for a long time before they got teeth. its really, really unlikely to cut canines at 3 months. and im not kidding, they are brutal.

Everyone who has looked at them has said their teeth, including his pedi. Do calcium deposits poke through the gums like teeth... like these are literally in the shape of a tooth and cutting through his gums and have been here for 2 months. His bottom teeth are starting to come in now too.

my second had deposits that were called teeth by a lactation consultant. i dont know. anything is possible. i had early teethers that got the top and bottom front teeth at 3 and 4 months, so i know the link posted above can be meaningless. it is definitely crazy to be cutting canines this early though, especially painless canines!

Yeah, I guess I will ask him to re check at his 4 month appointment and see what he says. I've been reading online that deposits usually go away within a couple weeks and these have become more prominent so I'm not sure. My mom said none of us were in pain when any of our teeth came in so I guess every baby is different but I will definitely ask him to re check.
