My in laws just left. They were here for a week and it was great. My mil was so sweet and helpful and respectful of how I choose to parent I know she was secretly dieing for Jett to be eating solids already. She bought me the steamer a little bit if organic baby food that I picked out and some oatmeal. I think she was hoping that I'd give it to him while she was here but I told her we'd FaceTime her when we do it for the first time. The only thing she said was maybe he'll sleep a little better at night if he had a little oatmeal. I said maybe
All in all it was a great week. I was really sad to see them leave. It was so fun seeing them enjoying their grand kids.
That's awesome Jill!!
Where do they live? Is it far from you guys?
I need to get a food steamer too. Can't decide on which one. Lol.
And yay for her being respectful! That's really awesome. I think I be inclined to maybe write her an email and let her know how much that means to you. I also feel very fortunate that my inlaws are like that. My mil is super supportive with everything and hasn't questioned me once! Fil is coming to visit this weekend (they are divorced) so we will see if he mentiones food but I doubt it.
The aunt was pushing food this weekend when we were at a family get together. But I don't have a problem shooting her down-- politely of course. it helps that our pedi says to wait until 6 months; I can always bring that up if I feel like I need extra back up.
