Emmy has mastered rolling from back to belly, but only over her left side. She hasn't once done it the other way. I keep thinking it will come but the more proficient she gets with that side, the less likely it seems she will use the other. Is this normal??

yes I wouldn't worry but i know you will:} it might come much later when she rolls that way or she might not roll that way at all. some babies never do certain things, an example is my dh never crawled when he was a baby he went from scooting to walking.

Funny, as I was opening JM up I was watching Nora on the floor and thinking the same thing, she only rolls to the right

While I don't know the real answer, I'm not worried. I imagine she will figure it out eventually. It's such a new skill, there should definitely be a learning curve allowed

Yes, it's normal. In order to meet the milestone of rolling, they need to roll once, one way. Lila never rolled from her back to her belly and hardly ever rolled from front to back. It'll come!

Madalyn can roll from her belly to her back. She's only done back to belly once .. And it was by accident because she was kinda on an incline. I'm sure Emmy is good!

Jonah prefers rolling to the left also. My oldest son never crawled..he went straight to walking at 9 months. Babies just do things their own way and they never follow the "milestones" books that we all read

Sean only rolls one way also. We're working on rolling to the other side but I'm not too worried about it.

Eabha will only roll from her tummy to her back, and only from one side. She seems totally disinterested in it...in fact any time she is on her tummy she is busy sticking her butt in the air and trying to move. She is just 5 months and I'm thinking as soon as that girl works out how to be mobile we are in big trouble lol!

Avrey only rolls to his right. He's tries to roll to the left but hasn't mastered it yet.

I have to think just like we have preferences for the sides we do things on, babies do, too. Alexandra likes to roll over to her right side. I'm not worried.
