I know it has been a while since we have talked about this...how many of you let your LOs sleep with a comfort item in the crib?

Abigail really needs something to hold onto when she sleeps. When she naps in her swing, she has her taggie square (http://www.kohls.com/upgrade/webstore/product_page.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=8455248928806 62&mr:referralID=974f5196-99fd-11e2-a969-001b2166c2c0)
On her nights to sleep with me, she always grabs onto my shirt. When I put her alone in the crib (asleep) she starts reaching around for something to grab and wakes herself up in a panic because she can't find anything.

She rolls both ways on her own and is starting to crawl...can I let her sleep with the Taggie square? Any help/advice appreciated...otherwise I'll have to sleep with Abby every night and George will be lonely

UPDATE: After getting a few positive responses and DH saying he thought she'd be fine, I let her sleep with the taggie last night. Instead of waking up in a screaming panic every 45 minutes, she slept for 7 straight hours Every once in a while she'd whimper and grab for the taggie, then she'd find it, sigh contentedly, and go right back to sleep. It still freaks me out, but it sure helps her!

I think it's fine if she's that mobile. That's not going to get tangled around her and she can move away or cry for help. I've left something breathable with my scent in his pack n play when we're traveling and it helps. One day he was in his crib and I had a bassinet sheet in there with him and he got it stuck on his face while playing with it and was able to cry for help so I don't think they'll suffocate at this point.

I would let her sleep with it. Eve has had her taggie square in the crib before.

My mom lets Madalyn fall asleep with her small security blanket and moves it away when she's asleep. I'm sure Abigail would be fine.

I think it depends on the child. You know how mobile she is and what she is capable of. Maybe during the day while someone is with her it might be okay but not at night. I have seen smaller blanket-like comfort items although maybe yours is small too; it may just look like its a full blanket in the pic. None of my kids are crazy about comfort items. DD1 now likes to take things with her to bed but as a baby she didn't.

Yesterday morning Jett was waking up, but his eyes were kinda closed, I unzipped his sleep sac and he grabbed it and started rubbing his face with it and fell back asleep. I could hear him breathing so I just let him. He loves blankets.

When can babies use blankets instead of sleep sacs? 1yr?

The Taggie Square is 12" x 12", so not big enough that she could get it wrapped around her. She still sleeps in a sleep sack, but doesn't seem to want to grab onto that.

Emma has a teeny tiny blanket she like to grab on to. she will not fall asleep without it unless she sleeps with me. When she sleeps with me she either must grab my jammie shirt or touch my face which I love but she mostly sleeps in her bed. She is fine with this and so are we.

YAY, glad you had success with the taggie blankie! Madilyn sleeps with a little lovey. She won't fall asleep or stay asleep without it.

After reading this I let Jett have his lovey and I was able to get him back to sleep twice last night without him thinking he needed to nurse. I took it away after he fell asleep but wondering if its ok to just keep it with him for when he wakes up??...

I have just left Abby's in her crib all night. It seems to really help her!

Adrianna has one! maybe I should try letting her sleep with it because she loves to crab something when she is sleeping! I also let her fall asleep with a blanket and move it when she is a sleep.
