I refinished a cabinet to store E's clothes - it was quite the project but I was delighted when it was finished because it matched her crib perfectly. I also did some paintings for her room and I wrote a rhyming ABC poem for her to go with pics of our family and home.
I recently made a tutu and headband with poofy bows for Emma and one of my daughters.
I recently started making them and specialize in the VERY VERY poofy, full tutus like ballerinas wear. I just started making hairbows and hair stuff for my girls and going to make for my 2 granddaughters.
Its a lot of fun and does not cost a lot of money

And 4 beautiful grandbabies
Our biggest "DIY" project was our last house. We bought an old farmhouse and redid EVERYTHING...paint, flooring, countertops, landscaping, fixtures...it was a totally different place when we were done. It became this perfect mix of country-charm and modern style, and we loved it.
I'm really proud of this afghan that I recently finished. I started crocheting it for my future baby when we started TTC Claire in 2007, and almost 6 years later it is finally DONE! I stopped working on it several times to make afghans for other people's babies or to work on other projects, and at times it was too depressing to work on it because we still weren't pregnant. Then when we finally did have a baby, I didn't have as much quiet time to work on it. It is so pretty that I don't want to use it for anything!
Oh Melissa, that's ridiculous!!! I crochet but nothibg like that! it's beautiful and must have been so much work!!
I'd also love to see your place; sounds like my dream home. We live in a (semi) old farm house but don't have the money for renovations. it could be so pretty but it's depressing sometimes how run down some things are.
I'll take some pics of projects later. Gotta go to work now.
Hmmm...this isn't a tangible DIY project, but when my Dad was dying of cancer, I decided to write out my favorite memories and other things I would want to say to him and give it to him for Christmas. I ended up reading it to him on the night we all thought we were saying our goodbyes. He rallied and lived another three months after that, but I was so glad I had written everything that I did. I ended up using it as my eulogy at his funeral when I was four months pregnant with Josiah.
Edit: removed eulogy since it is so personal, and I assumed you had all had a chance to read it
