Hey ladies; I am just getting over a bad bout of mastitis. Again. I tried getting rid of it naturally but it kept getting worse. So I got antibiotics and am now feeling better but I'm battling a yeast imbalance. Just can't win. I started on grapefruit seed extract and probiotics, on top of taking the antibiotics and stuff, so hopefully that will help.
I am going to catch up on posts a bit now! hope everyone is well.
I have thought about taking that. Maybe I need to start. I read there is no real evidence that it does anything but I am willing to give it a try at this point. Lol.
I do need to switch positions! I'm just not comfortable in any but the "standard" position. Especially football! So cumbersome to me. Lol.
Oh Nina I feel your pain!!! I am suffering through a really bad case of mastitis too and I feel sometimes like I'm the only one this happens too. It's been one plugged duct after another and this is my second time ending up with mastitis this pregnancy. I was on antibiotics for a week with no change and they ended up doubling my antibiotics. It's been almost 3 weeks now and I'm still swollen and now they think I have Thrush. I've been tempted to throw in the towel several times. I will say that Lecithin really does work. You have to take enough though - 3,600 to 4,800 mg's. I buy the Sunflower Lecithin in 1200 mg capsules and take 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I had run out of Lecithin before this last round of plugged ducts etc. and I really think that contributed to the problem. Also, when I pump now, I put a heating pad under my breasts and around the outside for a few minutes beforehand.
