What did you all do this weekend? We had a busy, but good weekend. DH's Dad had surgery on Wednesday to remove his kidney, and was in the hospital for his bday on Friday. We all went up to see him and took flowers Friday, then got cheeseburgers. I watched "What To Expect When You're Expecting" on netflix that night while DH played video games to unwind from the busy week. Saturday, we did some work around the house and then took a walk together. The boys both took long afternoon naps, then we went to our friend's house for a meeting with our small group from church. DH and I watched TV and had wine and appetizers as our "date" afterwards. Sunday, we all slept in and then raced to get to church on time. We had a day at the beach after church, then the boys took naps. When they got up, DH cooked dinner while I helped Josiah practice riding his balance bike outside. We cleaned up a bit this evening, and now the weekend is officially over
Sounds busy, but relaxed.
I had nausea all weekend and took dramamine so I slept for the last all day both days and feel tons better. The children all hung around the house and played inside and outside. Dh took care of everyone and did all the cooking and early this morning before church he ran out and bought Emma a highchair. We love it. Its the Chicco Polly Magic highchair. Its huge and the wheels are huge. We almost went with the regular Chicco highchair because of price. But we decided this would work better for Emma and since I have to look at it all day I wanted something pretty.
I worked saturday, took DH to his hopefully job (part time hookah lounge)... Sunday we just hung out, I slept most of the day though, played with kathy.... and her and I watched TV while I dropped hubby off at the lounge, had a friend baby sat her for 3 hours, and came back... but that's about it. I'm off until friday so my weekend is still going
Thank you *Sharon* for the siggy
I threw a baby shower for a friend at my house Sat night, just a very small one with our group of friends. This is the third baby in our group, and we just do showers that are more like "girls nights" where we get together, talk, eat a lot and drink some wine (well, not the mom to be of course!). It went well!
It was transition weekend for us because my mom left on friday! It actually went better than expected. Even though DH had appeared a bit defiant when I told him he had to get more involved when my mom left, he actually did a whole lot more than I expected. Came home after work on friday, did dishes, vacuumed the house, gave dd1 a bath while I gave dd2 a bath. He even asked me what else I needed him to do He is doing great and I am loving it. It's tuesday here and he's vacuumed the living/dining room again Outside of getting ready for the work week which involved cooking and doing laundry, we took dd1 to a birthday party of one of her classmates on saturday. It was fun and at a place where they painted ceramics and got it glazed. The kids loved it and I enjoyed the bday cake. Sunday after church we went out to eat dim sum which they call yum cha here. Decided we won't be going back to the restaurant. We've gone couple of times and their customer service sucks each time. Customer service is almost non-existent here in general! Both girls were also battling colds this weekend so that was no fun. DD1 was fine although coughed a bit and had some runny nose but was in good spirit; she started it so her worst day was friday. But poor dd2 got it on saturday and probably just felt miserable. She is a lot better now though.
Interesting, Yetty!! I wonder why customer service is so lacking there?! Do you mean Australia in general or the area you're in? I'll have to ask my sister, she spent almost a year there sightseeing. for some reason I always assumed Australians to be so friendly and always willing to help but I guess even that wouldn't automatically translate to good customer service.
Germany is like that; people completely mind their own business and waiters generally only come to your table after you flag them or give a signal.
And so lovely to hear that dh has been so helpful!! when will you see your mom again?
Jessica, enjoy the last week of school!!
**Thank you SO much Quantum_Leap for this perfect siggy!**
