is anyone else at one nap a day? it seems early to me because my daughter switched to 1 nap at 13 months and mat is only 9.5 but most days he is only take one midday nap. maybe that isn't helping our night time sleep issues... if only he would sleep, i would be a much better parent to both kids i'm sure....

Luyando does that once in a while but still does 2 naps some days. Days when she does one nap, she naps for 2-3 hours. She is currently napping as I speak, went down 2.5 hours ago. So, this will probably be a one nap day because it's already 2.30pm.

Coleson is still in the 3 nap a day stage. Morning, afternoon, and evening.

We struggled with naps for a long time, and for a while they were doing one nap and then struggling with sleep at night. We FINALLY settled into a good 2-nap-a-day routine a couple of weeks ago, and it has been wonderful. They are happier babies and definitely sleep better at night. Our schedule is roughly:

Wake around 7
Nap 10-12
Nap 2-4
Go to bed at 8

They still usually wake once each night to eat.

My DH and I are up by 6 am and the girls are up by 8 am. My 2 year old usually only gets 1 nap a day for maybe 2.5 hours and Melody gets about 2 naps a day for 2 hours each. They have a scheduled bed time for 10 pm which is working well for all of us. The two hours in the morning gives us time get our work outs completed and have breakfast ready for them .

Ruby takes one nap more often than two. It sucks. She ends up crabby in the evening. But my boys dropped their nap around this age so I guess it's genetic.

I think it is the curse of not being the firstborn... Jamison happily takes 3 naps a day when his big brother is not around. On the days that Josiah is here, he sometimes only gets 1 nap, usually 2, sometimes 3. The poor thing is either too scared he's going to miss something if he sleeps, or is rudely awakened by big brother far too often.

We're still at 3-4 naps. She wakes around 6am, naps around 8-9 (sleeping on my lap now! ), then anywhere between 11-1, depending on when and how long the am nap was, then around 5:00-6:00 and she usually goes to sleep for the night around 8:00-8:30.

You are so right! Claire took several naps a day at this age; the house was always quiet and she could sleep on me whenever she wanted. It was heaven for both of us. Subsequent babies just don't have those luxuries as often.

We are at two naps. One around 9:30/10 for about 1-2 hours, then another from around 2-4, then down for the night around 7:30-8:00.
