Well girls it finally happened today. I will NEVER forget this day..
I was asked by a waitress in Cracker Barrel if Emma was my daughter or granddaughter
Then after shopping in Walmart the cashier lady said," What a beautiful granddaughter I have!!!!!!!"
WOW!!! Thats hurts! I am 41 but most of the time when I have my hair and makeup on people don't believe I am much past 30 until I show them my driver license. My husband is graying big time. he is 43 and thinks its him so they assume I am older to.
Boo Hoo!!!! The cashier in Walmart really caught me off guard and I said,"WHAT" soo loudly that the front lines got real quiet...oops. But everyone listened to us explain she was our "surprise at 40 and Yes we have almost 4 grandchildren. People were laughing and coming up to us to check us out and congratulate us and complement Emma in her car seat. There must have been 70 people up there.
MY BIG MOUTH!!! But still I was so embarrassed......
My poor dear husband ran to get the car because of all the rain to meet us at the door and people were coming up to me the whole time to say something nice , especially the "how we have 10 children" thing.
What a day......LOL
This is a small town too We just moved here. Oh well!

Oh, wow! Oh well, though. We can't control the stupid things other people say! 41 is not old!

I just let it roll over me when people say things like that particularly if no malice is meant although I agree people need to have better mouth-control. Walmart seems to keep the likes of em cos I remembered being asked when I was due by a walmart cashier 2 days after I had Luyando. She was really embarrassed when I told her I already had her; sort of like Kate middleton issue where people expect your tummy to just go flat once the baby pops out. And really 41 is not old; its the new 30

I used to get the oposite... when I had Sam, I was 26, but looked like 18 apparently... people thought he was my lil brother. WTH!

I'm so sorry!! I'm sure they felt bad for asking afterward but honestly, if you're not sure, keep your mouth shut! It's like asking if someone is pregnant when it's not 100% obvious. Either way, there's potential for hurt feelings since you're implying it "could" just be extra padding.
