Those food pouches are pretty nifty. Madalyn let me feed her tonight by just squirting a dollop on her tongue. Pretty cute and not much clean-up!

Ruby sees those and gets crazy, starts flapping her arms and grunting until I give it to her. She feeds herself with them but sometimes squeezes too hard and it ends up being a terrible disaster.

Yeah, Madalyn grabs for it too, I just wasn't quite ready to trust her!

I need to teach Sean how to use those. I know it's not good for their teeth to use them all the time but there are certainly times when it would be handy to let him self- feed with them!

Interesting about the teeth, I never knew. What makes that worse than a soon if they are sucking?

It's basically the same concerns as sippy cups and binkies. They are linking them to orthodontic problems and increased cavities from the sugars sitting on the teeth. I think it's mostly if the kids are constantly sucking on them. I'm not really worried about using them here and there.

We don't buy them for any of our kids, let alone Esther. I wonder, honestly, how clean they are, knowing that capri sun pouches can grow molds before a kid opens it (plus we can't afford them).

I always have a couple in the diaper bag for on-the-go feedings. They are great because the babies can eat them, and Claire thinks they are a fabulous treat. Even DH has eaten a couple of them on the way to work for breakfast-in-a-hurry

They aren't something we eat on a daily basis or anything, though.

I don't trust luyando with hers however my mom used to use it to gauge whether she was hungry or not. If she sucked on it then my mom would put her food in her bowl and feed her. I just dump her food in a bowl and feed her. I am sure they are handy for when we are out and about and don't have a plate or spoon with us. I just like them because I don't have to mess with the probability of a broken bottle of food.

That's the one Elijah loves!

I buy mostly jarred food, but I keep a few of these on hand (in the above flavor). I bought one that had kiwi in it, and something was wrong with it. Looked weird when I squirt it in the bowl and when I inspected the package, it looked like the food was seeping through part of the package. I think it was the flavor, since both packages looked the same. Maybe the acid was eating away at the packaging, I don't know.

Anyway, cute idea for on the go, although I've never let Elijah suck it out. I've always spoon fed it.

Ok, so Ruby had an ear infection this week and was fussy. I went grocery shopping while wearing her and when it was time to go in her carseat she through a fit. I gave her a baby food pouch to make her happy, and then this happened.

I should have known. Oh well, at least it distracted her and made her happy on the way home.

Very cute idea. Ya'll have seen the pouch system right? I don't know the name of it but seen it at Babies r us and walmart. You buy the pouches and the little gadget holder and you can inject your own home made food inside it and have your own pouch baby food to go.
We don't go enough places for me to want to own this kit. But it looks pretty neat.

Oh, no! That must have been a fun cleanup! I tried letting Sean suck out of one today and he wasn't having it. But it was at the beach and he won't eat unless he's in his stroller or high chair. Not a bad problem to have!
