I didnt nor have I ever watched miss America although Iv seen several things before and after the contest in regards to the contestants on the internet. Im not upset that shes Indian as long as shes a citizen shes American that's the point of this country. however I will say from the things iv read/seen I really did like miss Kansas and was hoping she would win. It honestly makes no difference whatsoever if anyone is crowned though so i dont see what the big deal is.
The United States is made up of immigrant descent. The only people who are truly AMERICAN are the Native Americans. So if they really want to have a problem with it, then they have to have a problem with anyone other than a Native American winning the contest. Otherwise I think it is pretty ridiculous to have a problem with it.
I totally agree with you ladies. Unfortunately, the few narrow-minded people are probably the most vocal. I am sure majority of people see absolutely nothing wrong in her winning. I didn't watch it either but read about all the racist and ignorant comments afterwards.
I haven't watched Miss America for years and years, but I don't get the controversy at all. Who cares where her parents are from?!? She was born here and is a proud American, so that's all that should matter. The people who are complaining and raising a fuss must have a LOT of free time on their hands
