Happy World Religion Day from all the ladies at General Spirituality xxx

We would like to wish you all peace, love and light. Our board is all about learning about different faiths and spiritualities so, in the spirit of this day of interfaith understanding, I would like to ask you ladies a couple of questions about your faith to share back on GS...

1. What is the most important thing you would like people to know about your faith?
2. Are there any common misconceptions that people tend to have about your faith that bother you?

Sharron x

Hi Sharonn

1. What is the most important thing you would like people to know about your faith?

The beauty in our faith is the devotion we have to life and Hashem (G-d). Our faith encourages us to gain all our spiritual growth by doing good deeds. We are forbidden to take any life (including our own) as Hashem would never want any innocent or even guilty to perish. Ultimately Hashem makes the decision who lives and dies. No human, not ever (unless of course in defence)......

2. Are there any common misconceptions that people tend to have about your faith that bother you?

The biggest misconception is the seperation of Israel and Judasim. The land of Israel has and always had been our land and while we also spread out to the rest of the world (to escape from tyrants etc), doesnt take away the fact that we have always prayed for the land and considered it ours. We have always, througout the ages, even when occupied by others, been there in the land. It is through this bond with the land, that G-d has promised us (through Abraham), that has governed our religion.

You can never remove one from another. When there are certain factions who claim they are not antisemetic but anti zionist, it is the same and always will be.
