Certainly one of the biggest tzaddikim of our generation, the beloved rosh Yeshivah and founder of Aish HaTorah passed away yesterday. He educated so many Jews into the beauties of Judaism and spread a wonderful message of kiddush Hashem. Many, many Jews (including myself) owe their return to observance to his work.

Baruch Dayan HaEmet. What a great loss.

Many people may not be familiar with his teachings...I suggest as a basic What the Angels Taught Me" In that book I learned the 5 levels of pleasure and what the counterfeits are - so as to avoid the pitfalls. There is also much on the six constant mitzvahs, which all point to Hashem is One. Recently I began taking a chabura on this which has helped me understand these six constant mitzvahs and they have brought great peace to my life.

Of the 613 Mitzvos, there are Six Constant Mitzvos. Rather than requiring the performance of a certain action, these mitzvos are a state of being, of living with the reality of God's existence. The Six Constant Mitzvos are:

* Believe there is a God.
* Don't believe in other gods.
* Believe God is one.
* Love God.
* Fear God.
* Don't be misled by your heart and eyes.
