I have experince with having a bris ( I have a DS). I just found out I am having a girl.
So what do I do? I don't currently belong to a temple. How much does it cost and what is involved?
Any input would be appreciated.
YAY Stacy I am so excited you are having a girl! I am wondering the same thing we are still in the process of joining a synogauge. I the namings are usually during the Friday night services. I dont know if they cost anything if you belong to the temple. I was going to start the process of joining in a week or so once we move so i will let you know anything I find out!
I called a couple of temples. We aren't planning on joining one yet.
Both of them were reform. They both ask for "donation" for a baby naming but it is actually a price.
The first one the rabbi's assistant was helpful and really nice they wanted $100 for the cake and stuff after the friday night service. The second on I called wanted get this $600
So most likely it will be the first one. The temple that my son will be attended preschool is conservative. I haven't called them yet. I don't think I could sit through a conservative service even if it was part of the baby naming. The first reform temple has 1 long services (just about my attention span).
that is an insane amount of money! I would check out the conservative one...you'll have the baby so its not like you will be sitting the entire time It might be free since Max is in preschool there. Goodluck with it!
