Is anyone having a craving they are trying to not give into?

Lately, it seems like all I want to drink is Pepsi... I hate Pepsi (I was a Coca-Cola drinker prior to pregnancy), and I am really trying to not drink caffeinated stuff, but I gave in this weekend and had one... It was so good, and even settled my stomach. Now I am a wreck though, because I don't want that to be the reason I lose my little Oreo

One Pepsi is not going to hurt the little one There really isn't that much caffeine in one soda. As long as you aren't downing multiple Starbucks coffees every day you will be fine! I have had a few Pepsis since I have been pregnant because sometimes that is the only thing that will help the headaches I have been getting, and like you, it also settled my stomach.

I have been trying to stay away from sodas mostly because I'm so bloated and they just make that worse.

It'll be okay, Tanya. My doctor said a soda a day is perfectly fine, so go ahead and give in a little.

Chinese food!!! It so not healthy and one dish has a TON of calories. I try to refrain from Chinese food when not pregnant and refraining while pregnant is much harder!! So far I have gone a week with thie craving and have been successful!!!

You'll find it much easier to control yourself if you allow yourself a little. GL

LOL, It does taste different And I know around here it's harder to come by. I have only seen it in a 12pk, never in a bottle or fountain for sure!

I wonder if s/he would be happy with caffeine free? I have tried to drink ginger ale, but it upsets my stomach... Maybe I'll try the caffeine free kind & see if it helps at all...

Oh Tanya, I have been craving this Raspberry Tea stuff they sell in HUGE containers at CVS... I feel guilty about the caffeine, but I keep trying to convince myself that a little bit won't hurt! I am in the same boat as you!

Ginger ale this time around has really upset my tummy. I have never given up on caffeine in any of my pregnancies. This time around, a coke helps settle the tummy. I agree with Elaina in that unless you are downing tons of Starbucks, I wouldn't worry too much.

I had caffeine during my last pregnancy. I would have a can of pop here and there. The caffeine amount is so small in a can that it is okay. I love Squirt when I am pregnant, but I can't find it around here.

Tanya, I didn't mind the caffeine-free Pepsi. It tasted different, but not as much of a taste difference as between regular and diet soda. I'd give it a shot!

With DS my only craving was fountain coke. I had to have a large from Sonic at least once a day. DS is perfectly fine. I'm doing my best to stay away from alot of caffeine but I'm not being super strict.

Also sadly my latest craving is Jelly Beans and Sour Gummy Bears.

The one thing I've been craving that I can't give into is a big frozen margarita! I was looking up virgin recipes to make and see if that would quench it. Haven't tried it yet.

Trust me Hun, give in to your cravings. You won't do harm to your baby with some caffeine. In the past with HG I was encouraged to drink soda. At one point all I could drink was coke in one of those icy mugs. The Cola syrup is supposed to be a stomach settler. You can even buy it still in some stores for that purpose. I don't drink carbonated drinks at all so it was odd for me to drink but it's all I could keep down. I sipped it all day, every day.
