I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone is covered. I know in other countries, you may not have 'Health Insurance' the way we do - and I personally find it very interesting!
I live in PA, and have group insurance through my employer with Capital Blue Cross. Due to my deductible ($500) and coinsurance (20% with a limit of $1000), this baby will cost me, medically, $1500.
My office will give me 8 weeks maternity leave (because I am having a c-section. It is a standard 6 weeks for vaginal delivery), at 60% pay. Because we are a small company, I can not take Family and Medical Leave. If I choose to stay out longer than the 8 weeks, I will have to use vacation time (which I do not get much of).
I'm covered through my DHs insurance through his work, it's blue Cross. I have no doctor appointment copays. All we pay is a $300 inpatient copay when I have baby.
I also have group insurance through my employer (the federal government) and maternity care is covered at 100% with no co-pay.
I am entitled to 12 weeks of leave through FMLA, but it is not guaranteed paid leave, I have to use my earned leave to cover my salary. Fortunately, I have enough saved to take 6 weeks.
My husband is a SAHD/grad student, so he will be staying with the baby when I go back to work. I also have a flexible work schedule which allows me to work from home. If the baby sleeps a lot, I will probably exercise that option. I did with my son and it was great.
We have cigna through my dh's work. Our deductible is 2500 and coinsurance is 20% I don't know if there is a limit. To be honest I do not understand insurance why do we have a deductible, coinsurance and copay? Our copay is $35. I have no idea what it all means, I just pay whatever bills come in. My maternity leave is only as long as I stay in the hospital, lol. I love having that time, just me & baby before we come home and everyone expects me to share
I have my insurance through the hospital since I am a resident there. They pay for 100%, at least they do for now but we just got an e-mail today saying that because of budget costs they changing our insurance but it was so vague and they didn't say what exactly was going to change but that it would change July 1st so now I have to find out if I will have a co pay or not, I hope not. They say they are still paying our premiums every month but they didn't say anything about if we will still be 100% covered and not pay co-pays
As for maternity leave, I get 6 wks paid maternity leave and then can add on my 15 days of vacation but then I just have to make up my days missed for fellowship at the end so I am only going to take 4 wks paid maternity and then do 2 wks vacation for 6 wks total, then I only have to make up 4 wks at the end instead of 6 wks.
Cindy, the deductible is what you have to pay before the insurance will kick in and pay anything, so when you get admitted to the hospital, if you haven't paid any of your deductible for the year, you will owe 2500 plus then the insurance will kick in for the rest of the bill and you will pay 20% of the bill and the insurance will pay 80%. Most people use some of their deductible throughout the year as it is a year to year deductible and not a deductible for each incident. The co-pays are for office visits so you pay $35 for each office visit no matter how much they charge for the office visit and your insurance pays the rest. Hope that makes some sense.
My primary coverage through work is Aetna. Honestly, I am struggling to figure out what my maternity coverage is. I know that I don't pay a copay for any of my office visits- my understanding is that they just lump the "Pregnancy/Delivery" experience all into one claim.
In addition, I have my husbands insurance as secondary insurance. He is part of a union so it is paid for so no really for us to not have double coverage for me. His insurance isn't as great though, so we pay the extra amount each month to have dual coverage for him as well through my insurance. While it seems like a lot ot pay up front, we have definitely enjoyed getting prescriptions for free, no office visit copays etc. Usually what one doesn't pick up the other will - or atleast a good portion of it.
As for work I have 12 weeks paid maternity leave (the perks of working for a large company). In addition I have 5 weeks vacation each year, I will be taking my vacation time periodically throughout the pregnancy. Hoping to take a week of it when we get a contract on this house to pack and then another week or so once the new house is built to get all settled in. Since I am already going to be off for 3 months I will not be tacking any of my vacation onto my maternity leave.

A BIG thank you to Jaidynsmum for my awesome siggy!
I am uninsured however Im currently applying for medicaid. So far being uninsured iv gotten $500 worth of medical costs in 1 week Im under the impression if approved medicaid will retroactively cover the 2 visits iv had so far. Im unsure if there is a copay or what my terms will be. If not approved I will most likely remain uninsured.
Maternity leave is not applicable as I work from home.
We have Harvard Pilgrim PPO and our deductible is $2500. I have a $20 copay that they sometimes seem to charge me, but most of the time don't.
I don't know what my employer's maternity leave policy is as I'm only finishing out this contracted school year and will then be a SAHW for the second half of my pregnancy. After the baby is born I'll be a SAHM.
I have Capital Blue Cross through my work and am covered 100%. Akadia's birth didn't cost me anything which is nice since I had a million u/s's and tests with her. I get 9 weeks paid leave through work as "short term disability" and I can use my vacation as well, 3 weeks paid, so I get a total of 12 weeks paid leave. I plan to take a little more though if I can. Since my vacation resets in January, I'll have another 3 weeks technically.
Right now we are insured through UHC and it will cost about $1800 total out of pocket for the whole pregnancy. DH just graduated law school and is looking for a new job so we will likely be switching to either my employers insurance (not my first choice since my OB doesn't take it,) or to whatever his new employer offers.
For time off I will be taking 12 weeks total. 3 weeks paid with vacation time, 2 weeks at 60%, the rest unpaid.

DH is a government employee, so we have Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employees Plan. Maternity is covered 100%. Thank goodness.
As a small business owner, maternity leave is however long I want to do without the money, lol!! I don't want to be out too long because the less you are around, the less people remember you, the less likely you'll be hired for a job.

Thank you .h00dihoo.this. for my gorgeous siggy!!
I have insurance thru my work. Maternity is covered with no deductible with me paying 20% up to my $2500 out of pocket, after that they pay 100%. But once baby is born I have another $2500 out of pocket on it as well since the OOP is per person.
For maternity leave I can take 12 weeks unpaid thru FMLA, but will just use 7-8 weeks and use my vacation time so that it will be paid.
Since being under 26 still I am on my moms Cigna Plan. I have a 35 dollar co-pay, 20% co-insurance and a per person deductable of $1000 and a family dectable that im not sure off. So my Doctor sent in a quote for the whole pregnancy and delivery if vaginal and out-of pocket with no copay is 114. dollars each visit for the next 6 visits. With just losing my job I was refered for mediciad which will help pay that $114 dollars. Which will help me.
Unless I find another job, i will not be getting any leave.

We have Blue Cross Blue Shield and DH is a Federal Employee. I have one $20 copay for all of my appointments/ultrasounds. Last pregnancy I think we paid $200 at the hospital after the birth. I'm also a SAHM so no maternity leave

My dr doesn't charge the copay if your pregnant that gets lumped in at the end. And I believe he only charges it 1x for the entire pregnancy. I wish it were cheaper though, lol!
Mine is through Anthem BC/BS - I had a $10 co-pay for my first visit & then it is all covered 100%...
As for maternity leave, I believe between the federal FMLA & state FMLA, I have a total of like 26 weeks I can take - it is all unpaid though, so I will only be able to take the vacation, sick & personal time I have accrued - at that point, I think I will have about 14-16 weeks, so I am thinking I will take about 12 weeks... Our time accrues monthly vs. yearly, so each month I get 1.25 days of sick & vacation time (totals 15 days a year).
