What's your plan for birth control after baby?
I haven't put too much thought into it yet but as of now I am leaning towards the copper IUD. I had the Mirena last time and it was nice to have and not worry about but the hormones messed with me a lot.

I can't do hormonal birth control at all! It's wreaks havoc with my body.
We have always used condoms, but DH is now saying he wants the big V after this baby.

I've been thinking about this for a while now. This for SURE will be our last. (It was going to be our last had it only been one baby, lol!)
I don't like using any sort of hormones, so DH will probably get a vasectomy. I had thought if I end up having a csection they could just tie my tubes while in there, but I realized I'm giving birth at a catholic hospital that doesn't do that, and DH and I don't want me to go in just for that procedure later on. So it looks like vasectomy for us, lol!

I haven't even thought about it. With my first two, I didn't get a period until a couple of weeks after weaning, but I know things could turn out differently with the next... so I should probably start thinking about it!

I refuse to do birth control anymore, so condoms it will be until DH gets a vasectomy.

I'm planning on the copper Paraguard IUD as well. I hate hormones and while I'm certainly done having kids for a while, I'm not ready to say that my family is complete with baby girl joining us. I just want to wait until she's in school at the very least and by then I'll be advanced maternal age on top of my other risk factors.
Anyway, copper IUD for me.

I cant do hormones so I had the copper iud but took it out cause it started to freak me out. We were trying the rhythm method for less yuan two weeks when this baby came! So...I think we will use nothing but try to do better. I breastfeed for a year or more so that usually helps!

It took at least 6 months the last time for my cycle to come back, so I probably will not do anything at first. I'm not sure what we are going to do after that. To be honest, I kind of want 3 and a part of me wants to get it over with as soon as possible since I'm not getting any younger. I'll be 34 right after this baby is born. So, I might actually just use pull and pray for a while and then start TTC again next November when baby turns 1. After the 3rd though, I'm definitely done and DH will probably look into getting snipped.

Something i have not thought about, but i dont want anymore babies for awhile. So it will most likely be iud, since i do have a hard remember to take pills. I did try the depo shot but it did make me gain alot of weight. So in about a month or two ill start looking at the all my options.

DH wants a vasectomy since this is likely our last. We need to see how we both feel after she is born though. I'll probably get another IUD until we make a decision.

This one is hard for me...
Medically, I am not supposed to be taking anything hormonal and have issues with having anything stuck inside me indefinitely (IUD). It shouldn't be a problem for a while since I am not going to be with anyone & dating with an infant isn't likely. My OB suggested that this be my last one because of how many losses I have had and all the physical and emotional stress I would have to go through again and I have thought about it, but am not entirely sure it's what I want.
Anyway, sorry for the narrative... I guess if I will use condoms if necessary & play the not having any more by ear - I really don't want to commit to not having another baby just yet.

I'm another who doesn't like hormones, so we will probably just use condoms.

I had Mirena after DS, for about 2 years. It was fine at first but then I started having several minor niggling irritating issues with it, so I had it taken out and went on the pill (my DS was just about weaned from BFing by then). I've never had an issue with the pill and I'd take it right away after birth if it didn't mess with milk supply.
I've been thinking about this a lot and I think we'll just use condoms until baby is weaned, then I'll go back on the pill again. I don't like the idea of doing something permanent because I don't believe I can accurately predict how I will feel about having another baby in the future. For the longest time, we were both convinced that DS would be an only child, and then one day we just changed our minds!
I only have like 10-15 years until menopause anyway.

I can't take hormonal birth control, it's turns me into a crazy, psycho women. Can't do it. We had been using the pull out method and that worked out well for us. We are not done having kids yet, so if it happens earlier than we expect, no big deal. Years from now, when we are done, DH will get the vasectomy. As of now, after baby gets her, we won't be using anything.

DH will be 37 in July and we want more kids, so we'll probably not do anything and if we end up with Irish Twins so be it. After we're done having kids (after #2 if it's a girl, after #3 if not) he'll get the big snip.

Dh and I definitely want at least one more after this little girl (so weird to know that!), if not two more. Since I have PCOS and getting pregnant takes some time for me, we do not plan on going on anything after the baby comes. I will neeed to talk to my dr about my PCOS though and if I need to be on Metformin after baby comes to keep the cysts in check. I know I do not want to go on hormonal birth control again (although it keeps the PCOS in check) it also takes a lot to get my body straightened back out after being on it.
