So I ended up in the ER again!! Turns out my blood pressure is going crazy..160/68. 97/45.. 150/48. We found out my blood pressure is most likely due to anxiety.. They said I need to do something about it because it's harmful to me and the baby. I just..the advertisements about the medications really scare me. I really don't like taking chances at all with medicine...I don't even take Tylenol for pain that I have. I was thinking I should try to see a Therapist and see if that works but if it doesn't..? Should I go on medicine?

Those are pretty wild bp readings...how long do they stay at those numbers for? I'm surprised with those numbers they didn't keep you for observation...... I might invest in a bp cuff and monitor my bp for a while before starting meds. I'm not sure if meds would control anxiety related raises in bp???
Others will know better than me..thats for sure.

What kind of meds, something like Zoloft? I was on Zoloft with both girls because I have horrible anxiety. Started about halfway through with both girls, so after all the development was done and they were just growing. But you do need to do something. Crazy BP is not good for you or baby (stress and anxiety can cause preterm labor).

i have very bad anxiety, and i have never been on meds, they scare me, so i try other methods, i love the water so i take a shower or a bath to keep me calm, i also have my hubby stay with me and we watch tv or do something to take my mind off of things. i hope this helps and try to keep calm and stay positive

i have super bad anxiety and I cant take my beloved ativan anymore so now I just have to pretty much deal with it. I had to change psych's and she prescribed me fish oil, saying it would help.. but I can't handle it.. so now I just deal with it by doing things that relax me if it gets bad.. Im not opposed to medications as long as its "safe" and only use the prescribed amount..

Sometimes you have to weigh the risks with the benefits and i think it would benefit you more to go on the meds. Your dr. wouldn't prescribe you anything that wasn't safe and if there were risks associated they would go over them with you and let you know. I know there are some safe meds so talk to your dr about the risks...
