For those of you who aren't caught up. I was dealing with severe depression, headaches, sickness, leg cramps, and what I should do about it all?

My Dr said I could go back on my antidepressants, but there is a risk of heart defects in the baby and there will have to be a detox/withdrawal period for the baby. I don't really know if that's something I'm willing to do.

Second I've been having migraines so they prescribes me butabital which is just caffeine and tylenol! Yay no more sickness! I would be on the couch for hoursssss with a migraine and a sick stomach from the pain.

Third the leg tightness I've been feeling is most likely swelling and I should up my potassium intake and lower my sodium. (that's pretty hard now a days)

So everything is looking good with baby! I'm a little ahead of where they've calculated me to be but this has been the story from the start. I am not happy with the weight gain, at all. smh.

Glad everything is looking good with the baby... Is there another anti depressant they can give you? My friend just had a baby 2 weeks ago and she was taking something (i can't remember what but next time i talk to her i will find out) and her baby is perfectly healthy and didn't have go do any withdrawals....

I was on anti-depressants while pregnant with Liam, he came out perfectly fine. There are quite a few category B anti-depressants and mood stabilizers that are fairly safe.

The specialist I saw said there is no evidence that the medication causes those effects on the baby. She said they see the same effects in women who suffer from depression and are untreated so they are unsure what causes it. You are MUCH better for you and your baby if you take the help of the medication.

Here are some links that I found helpful:
