Who's planning on having one to see baby's face? We've been talking about it, but the only place in my town that does it charges almost 200.00 for it, and we don't really have it to spend on that atm. I called anyway, and they said to wait until 27+ weeks that before then the baby is still really tiny and it's hard to see features clear. Just curious to see who's going to be doing this
Also, kind of OT - but I just switched Dr's and I had an ultrasound at my old Dr's office scheduled on the 24th to look at her heart. JW if when you switch does the new Dr. generally want to have an ultrasound done to check things out themselves? and considering that the old office wanted this one to be done, you think they are going to also have it done? Just not sure if I should expect an ultrasound from them right away.

I've considered it, but I'm not sure. I found a local place that does a $99 weekday special so its pretty reasonable, but we don't have a lot of extra cash right now. I mostly just wanted another gender confirmation before decorating her room. Now I found out I'll get another U/S at 28 weeks to check my placenta position anyway so I may not do the 3d one. My doctor's office also can do 3d, but they usually don't until later in pregnancy. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll take a few shots for me.
I originally booked the package where you come back at 30 weeks for the face shot, but when I paid, you only paid for the first half. I'm trying to decide if I am going to go back for the face shot or not. I was kind of waiting to see if my OB was going to do another one.
I was going to wait for a while since we did have that ultrasound with the old Dr. I guess I'm just going to have to see how things go with that, and if we end up getting scheduled for an ultrasound right away then I'll wait, if we don't well, I'll see about having it done in two weeks when I hit 27, lol. I'm excited for everyone to get theirs! Can't wait to see all the little baby's faces
I was thinking, since the cost is eh just seeing if there's a place in Houston that's cheaper. There are a million there so maybe I'll find some kind of special somewhere.

We get one as well. It's actually completely covered under insurance, probably because they are checking the baby at the same time. I believe we go for it on sept 9th, so I should be about 32 weeks then.

I'm jealous that you guys get late u/s! All I've ever gotten was a dating u/s with this one (and with E, but not with Mia because we were military and tricare doesn't pay for anything, lol) and the 20 week one. Nothing after that unless I go to a private place.

We will at our dr's office. Our ultrasound tech stated 28-29 weeks it the best time to get one so we'll plan on around that time. I'll probably actually schedule it tomorrow when we go for our appointment.
We are having one, but nothing is booked yet. I'm not sure how much it will cost. We have video from our first two babies u/s and were really disappointed when they stopped doing those. So with our third we went to get a 3D. I feel like we almost have to do it this time so Norah will have a video too, but I really want to see her also.

I will get one around 28 weeks to check if my placenta moved. My tech said she would get me some 3/D shots then. I'm excited!
With Lorelai I paid about $200 for a package that I got to go 2 times & see her. Once was at 26 weeks and again at 34 weeks I think. The pictures were really cool!
We had talked about doing it around 30 weeks, but I'm not sure. I have another u/s at week 28, so now we're not sure about scheduling another ( it would be our 6th u/s!)
Plus, I was thinking that, since we know the gender, the only real surprise left is seeing what Ellie looks like for the first time in the delivery room... so, we're now undecided. We'll see here in a few weeks if I still feel that way, or if curiosity wins out!
I won't go to an elective place. My hospital will usually turn on 3d during later ultrasounds. I have some cool shots of Carly, but never got any with Sofia since she never behaved during her ultrasounds.
The hospital I work at offers them for employees. when I registered it said for a free u/s but I think they sell packages for 75, to include a disk. Mine is scheduled for Aug 23rd. I have to call and find out for sure about pricing.

Pretty much the same with me. Booked the package. I paid for the first half (gender u/s) and I'm trying to decide if I wanna pay the second half for the 30 weeks ultrasound.
I had one scheduled but I cancelled it because my perinatologist did one last week when they were checking my placenta. She just said I am going to flip to the 3D paddle. It was so cool!! I didn't do one with my other two and I would so recommend it. I thought an ultrasound was cool. I am hooked! I have to go in once a month and I am going to BEG them to do it each time.
