I had a great m/w appt yesterday. Went to my m/w's apprentices massage studio and my midwife was waiting. We chatted for a bit. Normally she comes to our home for my prenatal appts - but this was different to go. I got to leave dd with DH and get out for a couple hrs. So she checked my Bp which was great 92/52- very normal for me
We then went into a massage room and I layed down and she checked my fundal height and I was about 24.5". She then pulled out her fetal scope which I'd never seen in person before but it was cool. I'll post a cool pick of them doing this. It's a stethoscope with 2 parts for either mom or asst to use. They hear baby's HB and baby movements and even detect how baby is laying and where head/feet are. Which doesn't matter yet- as they still have tons of room and flip and move for another couple months usually. Then she pulled out the standard Doppler and we listened to HB for a minute. And I used my iPhone and taped so I could show DH and dd when I got home
. Best sound in the world!!!
Then the best part of my appt. I got undressed and while they went out and turned on soft music and dimmed the lights. my midwife is a licensed masseuse and gave me almost an hour long full body massage! It was fabulous. And baby boy flipped and moved most of the time during the massage. He loved it! And she said that is normal. And every appt from here on out til baby arrives she is going to do that. She says it will help baby keep the optimal position and when I see my m/w my heartbeat and myself just naturally calms down and it's amazing. She said it will be like that during the birth day and it will be great! So my next appt at 28 wks and then 32 wks will be at the massage studio. Then at 35 wks shell come to my home to deliver the birthing tub. Alexa was born early on her own at 37 wks 2 days. So I wonder when this one will be done baking
