Everything hasn't come in yet (I just know Fedex is going to show now that Akadia is taking a nap!) but here is what I got this morning from UPS:
This is everything so far. Have some newborn AIO BG's coming still and some of the new Kissaluvs fitteds and 3 covers (Thirsties XS, Bummies Super Bright S and a Prorap newborn)
These are my flip covers which I think I'm going to really like. I have disposable inserts for back-up in case we're out, but mostly, I plan to use prefolds and the stay dry flip liners shown. I have both so we'll see what I like better.
And these are the BumGenius 4.0's. Almost too nice to put on Akadia's behind!!! I have 2 more of these coming. I had 3 get one free codes, so I used all of them and another one should be coming with those newborn AIO's. These each come with a newborn and a regular insert but I bought a few extras just in case. They will actually work in my flip covers too.
I love all the girly colors! Just like clothes, there are more cute diapers for girls than boys. Part of me has been tempted to buy some cute girly ones and put them on Sean anyways since it's just a diaper and his clothes will often cover them, but DH would kill me!

I can't wait to try them! I just need to go out after A's nap and get some laundry detergent that's safe to use with them. I'm also not sure if I need to pre-wash all the covers or not. The instructions are vague on this and I even read the entire BG faq online and couldn't find an answer. I know the inserts and prefolds need to be washed 3-5 times, but hate to do that to the covers if I don't have to.
I think I read somewhere that the covers just need it once and that the reason to wash the inserts so many times is just to get to their maximum absorbency. I read that hemp inserts need to be washed even more before using!
I think that's what I will end up doing. I would just think the covers might need 1 wash to get rid of any possible bleeding? I still got some boy color. Akadia has a number of blue outfits, so I figured they would still work.
That's a great stash u have going on so far!! I don't have anything yet! Waiting on a box from a friend and then gonna go from there depending on what she has for me. I know I'm for sure gonna be buying some lil joeys though.
I'm not planning to newborn CD otherwise I'd want Lil Joeys, too (as a first-time mom I want the time to adjust to that before CD). I'm really hoping to come across a sale on the snap Rumparooz! I found a sale for the Aplix ones but if I'm going to be washing them I don't want to deal with the velcro.
Just a heads up the BG 4.0 inserts can't be used in the FLIP covers as microfibre can't be directly next to the skin it needs a 'barrier'. It is too drying on the skin and sucks all the moisture out.

I wouldn't have thought that since both the flip inserts and the BG inserts say they are made of the same thing 80% Polyester and 20% Nylon. They both look and feel identical too except the flip ones have a sueded side that is supposed to pull the moisture away and make it feel dryer. I wonder if that's the difference since they both are microfiber inserts? Way too much to know about all this stuff!

Yep the FLIP inserts are microfibre but have a stay dry liner.. because of that they can go against the skin, provided you use them the right side up... I didn't the first time... whoops LOL!
Yep, this is my trial run before the baby comes. I have just enough at the moment to try it out.

I have these little fleece liner things (for use if Akadia ever needs diaper cream), could I use those over the BG inserts and still use them in the Flip covers if I was out of flip inserts?
