Let me give you ladies a little history on me. I have a history of m/c so I went through about twenty different blood tests to figure out what was causing them ( dr. said babies were all developed correctly it was me) anyways they found out I am heterozygous for the mthfr gene. Basically it causes my blood to clot off nutrition to the baby and I'm at higher risk for blood clots then other people. So I am now on heparin injections I've been taking them for 8 days twice a day. My stomach has black and purple bruises sprouting everywhere. My sweet Dh is so supportive though and tells me how beautiful I look. I love him so much and if this is what it takes to keep my sweet baby alive I'll do it bruises be ******. Anyways just felt like sharing.
Sorry sweet!! I had to give my DH heparin shots in the fall for 8 weeks - and I know it was a certain kind of torture for both of us. One thing they suggested was unlike other sorts of shots, do not rub the injection site afterwards as this will cause more bruising. I'm not really sure that helped though - he still bruised a bunch.
In any event - I'm positive you still look gorgeous!!! Good luck
Sorry you are having to go through the shots. I had to have them for 3 days with my last pg when I had a blood clot in my leg. I cannot imagine going through them any longer than that. Prayers going up for you.
Ugh... I had to do that when I had a DVT about five years ago... those belly shots are not fun! I certainly understand feeling like you'll do whatever you have to, no matter how painful, to get that baby here! Sending positive thoughts your way...
Hang in there, lady! It will all be worth it in the end but I know it's no fun! I've never done heparin injections, but I've done my fair share of shots and I know it bites to have to do shots in the same spot day after day. Can you ice the spot when you are doing heparin? I remember that really helped with my subcutanious (sp?) shots.
Thanks ladies for listening and your words of encouragement. It felt good to vent a little. Its going to be a really long nine months hopefully I love this baby so much already and you girls are awesome. I'm lucky to have you all to share things with since I can't tell anyone else beside Dh yet
