I woke up this morning and in my underware was 2 dime size spots of light brown. Now my discharge has a light brown tint to it.

I'm so worried now? What do I do?

If it doesn't get heavier and turn red and it's not accompanied by cramps, then don't worry about it. It's probably just coming from your cervix. I understand the panic, though. I had been spotting for 2 straight weeks and I panicked every time I saw it.

Brown blood is usually nothing to worry about, as that is old blood. Bright red is when you should be more concerned.

That being said, I had brown spotting with my last pregnancy and went to the ER (I was scared too!) And it turned out I had a bladder infection.

If it will ease your mind go get checked

I agree with the others. Brown means old. So as long as there isn't any red blood and no cramping you should be just fine!

I called the on call DR because I my heart was racing and I was in tears.
It had been several days (not exactly sure but like Wed or Thurs) since we DTD, so I was thinking why would it take so long between then to now.

Luckily it was one of the Dr's that I love & trust the most from the group that called.
He said being brown and no cramps that he is not concerned but he knows with my history where my mind raced. Told me to talk it easy, keep hydrated. If it stays the same or goes away that is good but he wants me to call the office in the morning to set up an ultrasound appt just to make sure its nothing either way.

So now its me, pillow & blanket on the couch with a movie and laptop. Laundry can sit in the washer a few hours.

Yeah, as long as it's brown I think you're ok. Hopefully it stops soon though so you can rest a little easier!

Well I havent had anymore spotting in about 2 hours. Praying that will be the end of it. Still I'm scared. I can tell DH is worried but all he said was "there's nothing we can do." I know its true and he's still trying to stay emotionally un-involved.

Sorry your husband isnt being more emotionally supportive. Hopefully after the ultrasound it'll hit him a little more and he'll take his guard down some. Good luck Katie

It's ok brown is good. I had that during my 6th week and I called my doc so scared. He said it was implantation bleeding and it could last for a few days. It lasted almost a week. Take it easy and don't do anything strenuous for a few days.

I had the same exact thing around 6 weeks on and off for about 3 days and it was only on the TP when I went to the bathroom. It was really scary but it went away and Im 8 weeks now and doing fantastic! Its really common and nothing to worry about as long as its not accompanied by sever cramping/backache and it doesnt get heavier or turn red.

Ive been spotting off an on this entire pg so far, (even this weekend) red, pink, you name it! I have a small SCH which is the cause. Baby is great though, measures perfect! Sometimes we just spot for no good reason and end up just fine. I had spotting like this with my last two girls as well. Red and pink, with cramps, and without.

I had brown spotting on and off for about a week. Scared me to death. But so far, so good. I had the u/s in the er on Friday and everything looked great. It's so hard not to worry though.

I had brown spotting with my previous pregnancy too and I worried so much. I went to the doctor and it turned out to be nothing. They were not concerned since it was brown spotting. You are doing the right thing by just taking it easy and resting today. Hope you get an u/s and get to see your sweet little bean!

With our loss earlier in the year, the blood was never brown only bright red. With this (so far healthy and normal) pregnancy, i have spotted on and off since 5.5 weeks (still spotting brown occasionally) and we have heard a healthy heartbeat and all looks fine so far!!! I really agree with the previous women that brown is much happier news than cramping and bright red. I know it is so scary to live in the time in between spotting and an ultrasound. I hope the waiting goes quickly so you can see your healthy baby SOON!!!
