So this is one thing I am really dreading!!! Apparently its in your genes as to whether you will get stretch marks or not and no matter how much cream or oil you use, if they're gonna come, they're gonna come.

That being said Im still willing to try any old wives tales to avoid them if pos!!

Anyone got any tips??

I have really been dreading this too as I am already so tiny to begin with. The book that I have "What to Expect when your expecting" says that you may be able to minimize, if not prevent stretch marks by keeping weight gain steady, gradual, and moderate. The faster skin stretches, the more likely it is to leave marks. It also says that promoting elasticity in your skin by nourishing it with a good diet (especially vit c foods). Personally I don't think it could hurt to use the vitimin e lotion or oil to help. All these things combined may just b good enough to work

With DS I didn't get stretch marks, but after I had my c/s and went into the bathroom afterwards I looked and there they were! I used Palmers the whole time from the day I found out I was pregnant until I had him....

They faded and I couldn't see them until about a week ago and now they are apparent! Booooo!

Yeah, I'm still willing to try as much as I can to help prevent them. I'm wondering what the best type of lotion to use is? I need to look around the next time I'm out.

My first pregnancy, I lathered myself with shea butter every night and congratulated myself for a job well done when I didn't get any stretch marks. My second pregnancy, I was too busy to do this and I didn't get stretch marks anyway. I think it's all just your genes! When I see them on my friends, I think they are beautiful - they are the stripes you earn with motherhood!

For what it's worth, I swear by Mama Mio Tummy Rub Butter. I know it's mostly about genetics, but I used that stuff on my belly (I'm tiny too), but NOT my boobies, and boy do I regret it. One tiny stretch mark on my stomach (not even noticable), but my poor ladies...

Cocoa Butter.

I got a lotion that is Cocoa Butter and made just for pregnant women hoping to avoid stretch marks. I've heard it keep you collagen stretchy and that reduces stretch marks.
So I've been using since I got BFP.

Its all in your genes.....my mom is 100lbs and had my brother who was 11lbs 12 oz and never got a single stretch mark. I had 3 babies and never got any either. I do however help to prevent them by using cocoa butter and i mix it with Vitamin E oil capsules.

I'm going to use extra virgin coconut and extra virgin olive oil on my skin during this pregnancy.. both are natural and supposed to be filled with good stuff.

I find olive oil more moisturizing in my opinion than the coconut

I didnt do anything either pregnancy and didnt get any stretch marks. Who knows? My mom has tons of stretch marks, though, I think its just an individual thing.

I've got a road map of marks now. With my first I didn't get any stretch marks. My second pregnancy was with twins. Got plenty with that pregnancy. Third pregnancy..it didn't matter LOL. I don't think I got any with that one though. My stomach had already been stretched beyond.
