I had a routine doctor's appointment today and I talked to her about my m/s getting worse and losing weight, and she said a lot of her patients are suddenly feeling sick in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters and she thinks it's from the heat. I don't do a heck of a lot outside, but even just walking to my car to go to work can be rough. Any tips of how to cope with the heat? It's in the 100+ range here (110 this weekend, ugh.) I'd like to survive until September, lol.

We're only really hot a little and that's mostly just in the 90's so I don't envy you! My plan for August is to make sure I always have cold/ice water with me and try to spend the day in places with AC - work, theater, mall, etc.

Aren't you glad that we're not having our babies in August? I can't imagine being huge in the heat of the summer....

The only thing I can think of is what Becky said, lots of cold water and stay in the a/c as much as possible.

I'd suggest spending time outside during times
that are coolest (morning and evening). Drink lots of water and stay inside
when possible.

Water. lots and lots of water. And Gatorade. I feel your pain right now too lady! We're in a drought and all of our fireworks shows are being canceled.

I will be staying inside. It is HOT here in Dallas. My older two were July and August babies and let me tell you, being nine months pregnant in the summer stinks. I'm SO glad I'm not doing that this time!

I'm still losing weight too... If I didn't need to gain weight, I'd be thrilled. I've got a bigger chest and less weight for once!

I always make sure I have bottles of water in the fridge so I can take a cold one with me when I go anywhere.
Other than that.... I just try to stay inside during the afternoon. It's been awful lately.

It's really hot here too. I don't mind it as much tho. I actually try to spend time outside (usually by a pool or at the beach) because it improves my mood. Sunshine just makes me happy.
Just like the other girls said....COLD water and trying to stay inside as much as you can. One thing I always did when I worked was wore a tank top or light camy under my work shirt so that when ever I went outside I could take off my over shirt. I thought that helped but there's only so much you can do.

Same here...Central California. I've also lost alot of weight but I've been sick all along. I can say that I'm not always a big water drinker so iced tea seems to help alot. Also, I find that if I do puke(TMI), tea is not so bad coming up again. lol I hope it cools down for you soon and that you can start feeling better.

I dont know if its true but I heard Cold water can actually make you feel hotter because your body try's to counteract the sudden cold rush by heating you up a bit more!
I have no advise other than come stay in England. We're flooding at the moment

I am sorry you are still feeling so bad and losing weight (If I could I would give you some of my weight gain ). We are having 100+ weather right now too and like everyone else has said I try to stay in the a/c as much as possible and I am always drinking ice water.

I have been feeling sick the past couple of days & my m/s had stopped so I'm sure its the heat. It was 105 with a heat index of 115 yesterday & the 7 day forecast looks even worse. We only have 5 counties in the state that are not under a burn ban. I drank almost 2 gallons of water yesterday & it didn't help at all. Have you tried Nauzene tablets? They are OTC so they are pretty cheap. I'm so ready for winter!

Thanks for the suggestions! I do stay in most of the time, but I get sick just walking to my car or up the stairs to my apt. Hopefully the heat will break soon. It was already 90 when I left for work this morning I think whenever I go out, even if it's for a moment I'll carry a cold water bottle. I'm also looking into those neck cooler towel thingies. Anybody ever use those? Do they work?

This heat is KILLING me! I have a 2 1/2 year old that loves to be outside, so I have to spend hours outside every day. Uuuugggghhhh! I've been making sure we only go out in the morning/night though (which results in him whining at me all day to go outside, but I'd rather listen to that than actually go out. haha).

I've had a headache since the heat started - I finally upped my water intake from 70-80 fl oz per day to 100+ fl oz per day AND I drink a glass or two of milk and one serving of low sugar Gatorade. I actually take the Gatorade with me when I'm outside and it's really helped a lot!

I've been peeing a ton, but it's worth it. haha
