I had sciatica with my daughter's pregnancy but I remember the pain more in my back and left buttocks.
Today, we took the kids to the county fair to see the animals. I walked about a mile cumulatively which is way more than I've done since the SCH came about and we had to leave early because my left leg and hip became extremely painful. Now it hurts every time I walk and going up stairs is really excruciating. It's not radiating down from my back like when I had sciatica with Penny's pregnancy, it's more centralizing in my left hip and radiating down into the side and back of my thigh. For anyone who has experienced sciatica, does this sound like it fits the bill? I'm super bummed if it's sciatica again but at least I'll know so that I can book an appt with my acupuncturist and hopefully get some relief. Does anyone have any other pain tips? I can't remember the suggestions my dr had last time and since it's the weekend, my questions will have to wait.

I have sciatica and it feels like that. It goes from my back to my left buttox, to my left leg. It hurts reallllyyy bad if I'm up too long.

My husband has had extremely bad sciatica for years. He has had 2 surgeries, used a cane, and has been in a wheelchair. He says that definately sounds like sciatic pain. His pain really started in his hip and after surgeries has maintained in his hip/leg. In the worst times it was in the back, of course, but not so much right now. I really can't give too many tips on helping with the pain as you are pregnant. Accupunture sounds great...you should definately take it easy! Hope you feel better soon.

Yup... that sounds like mine. Right hip radiating down leg all the way into foot. Yippee. I'm seeing my chiropractor on Monday for it.

Shoot, not what I wanted to hear but hopefully it will go away and not last through the pregnancy. Bummer! It wasn't as painful when I woke up and I'm going to really try to take it easy today.

I went to the chiropractor last week & felt much better after getting adjusted. My pain was a lot like you described but mine went down to my foot. I hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks Crystal! It feels a lot better this morning just like yesterday morning, but I'm not going to let that fool me and still make the appt with the acupuncturist. It got really painful again as the day went on yesterday, so I'm expecting it will probably get worse today. Esp since I'm back to work as SAHM since the weekend is over. Good times!
