Have you thought of what kind of BC you'll be taking (if any) after baby is born?

I want DH to get fixed since this is our last. We'll see if I can get him on board though. If not, I'll just get another IUD. I LOVE not having a period.

Because I started having probs on Nuva Ring and pills the last 9 mos before we got pg.
I plan on going with IUD. Very effective and long term.

IUDs scare the crap out of me.

DH will be getting snipped when we're finished... I can't do hormonal and we both hate condoms so...

The plan is to have tubal during c-section. I don't much like it though because if something happened to this baby I know I'd want another. Dh thinks I'm being crazy but I think it shouldn't happen unless 100% sure. I am 100% sure I don't want more than 4 kids but if something happened I know I'd feel cheated. The problem is that if we wait til baby is 6mos-1y/o he has to get V instead of my tubal at csection. It's not that he won't get it but it does complicate things. I'm starting to think IUD is the way to go afterall. I loved my last 3 IUDs and they have only gotten better with the adding of mild hormones. Gotta think about this...

I hated the IUD only because it made DTD miserable at times. DH will be getting snipped after our last, but an IUD for the time being. Pills mess with BFing and I'm crappy at taking them anywho.

They're not that bad, I swear. I think my insides are shallow or something because most people have no problem DTD with an IUD.

Ugh I totally know what you mean about DTD! That is DHs #1(and only) complaint with IUD...the string always scratches him. We've tried it super short and really long and in between but no good so far. We have to talk to MW about it this time and ask for opinion. The thing is, it's great in every other way, for me, and I'm not willing to have my horrid periods in exchange for Dhs weenie not getting scratched now and then. Is that what your problem is with IUD?

I don't know yet but I will most likely do NFP until we figure out what we want to do whether it's something permanent or continuing NFP while using a diaphrahm (sp?) during fertile times. I don't react well to any hormonal BC and I'm really good at reading my fertile signs since I have years of experience with TTC and charting. We also have fertility challenges (I only have one tube from an ectopic, autoimmune issues and DH has morphology issues) so I think it makes it a little safer to rely on NFP than a couple who is super fertile.

You mean aside from 'stay the hell away from me, i just want to sleep'?

No, not really. We may want more children and Im already long in the tooth so we will probably just wing it.

I did depo shots when I was BF'ing my DD, and I really liked that. Insurance covered it entirely (and trust me, my insurance covers NOTHING), and my periods went away completely. The only problem I had was that it took my body a long time (6+ months) to "get off" of the depo once I stopped.

Since this is our last baby, DH will be getting the mighty snip in March. We will probably do very low dose BC pills until then, or maybe just condoms (shudder) considering the length of time between delivery and vasectomy.

We'll use the lactational amenorrhea method for as long I meet the criterion, and then move to the fertility awareness method with barriers after that.

DH is going to get snipped after this one. We are DONE I never thought I would be comfortable saying that, but I totally am. I feel our family will be complete after this little one.

Nothing, we're gonna NTNP until this one is at least 6 months then we'll start activley TTCing if I'm not knocked up by that point. After that baby, we'll use FAM/NFP using condoms when I'm O'ing until we're ready for baby #4.

When we feel our family is done (which probably won't be for awhile), DH has agreed to get snipped.

I don't like taking anything hormonal because I'm scared it will mess up my body. I took BC when I was 18-19 and it was misery. So well will be using NFP(prevention)/spermicides.

Yes and when he hits it, it feels like he's pushing it into my cervical lining. It hurts so, so bad! He complained that he didn't get it very often.

I have talked to DH about it a little but I'm still not sure what we are gonna go with. I know we are gonna start TTCing after about a year or so, so I might just go on the pill till then.....I am gonna talk to the doc about it when I get a bit further along.
